I love this podcast, and Mr. Early you provide a valuable service (and your father’s service to our nation was especially awesome!). However I have to strongly object to the claim that “3 American presidents came out of the 1832 Black Hawk War”. Jefferson Davis deserves an asterisk before he’s conflated with the greatest true president in US history. Lincoln used to qualify his remarks about that insurrectionist leader by calling him, “the so-called president”. Some clarification is in order lest more of the “Lost Cause” narrative continue to retain traction.
