It’s not a topic that gets a lot of conversation.
Not on the kitchen table.
Not at the restaurant.
Not at parties.
And we assume , because we live in well to do in North America, that it doesn’t happen here.
It couldn’t possibly happen in a city like Calgary Alberta. But it does.
It couldn’t possibly happen in a city like Vancouver B.C..But it does.
I could go on naming cities, but the fact is it does.

The Joy Smith Foundation works to ensure that every Canadian man, woman and child is safe from manipulation, force, or abuse of power designed to lure and exploit them into the sex trade or forced labour.
As an educator, Stephanie Anderson is passionate about empowering our nation’s youth. When one of Stephanie’s former students was charged for trafficking adolescents in her small town, Stephanie felt compelled to join the Joy Smith Foundation to combat the issue. Now, it is her joy and privilege to serve our Alberta youth by training them, as well as adults, through JSF workshops across the province.
