Giorgio De Giorgi, a 40-year-old man, on New Year's Day 2023, reflects on his life while standing in front of the mirror. He's a chef at a restaurant in Turin, and like every year, he feels the urge to express himself. But this time, he's determined to start a journal. He chooses a “vintage” diary with yellowed pages and no lock, drawn to the phrase, “A dive into the past improves life.”
Shortly after, and surprisingly, the diary is delivered at record speed, right at 6:00 PM on January 1st. When he opens it, he finds that all the pages are blank except for the first one, and he realizes that the diary can only be written in with a quill and ink pot, both included in the package.
As soon as he starts writing in the diary, something extraordinary happens: red writing appears right after his own, introducing itself as "Joel." This mysterious figure answers Giorgio’s questions and seems to know intimate details about his life.
Perplexed, Giorgio questions whether what’s happening is real, but in the end, driven by curiosity and Joel’s irresistible proposition, he decides to accept the adventure...
