Tonight we welcome someone back to our podcast to talk about the upcoming Medavie Moncton Running Festival. Colin McQuade was instrumental in starting up Moncton's Resurgo marathon back in 2019. After 2 years of cancellations, the marathon is back with a very cool twist. It is now a 2-day event, September 10th and 11th with all kinds of things going on. We talk about people wanting to get out there and just doing an event with other people, that would be nice. We chat about The Petitcodiac Challenge, running the marathon on Saturday and the 5 km event on Sunday. We talk about some elite runners who can run the 5 km in under 16 minutes and how exciting it will be to see these athletes in person. We discuss how a person could volunteer for one event and run the other. There will also be a 1 km event for the kids on Sunday and we hope to see as many children out there as possible enjoying our wonderful September. In general, we give lots of information about this Festival and how excited we are to see this challenge come to Moncton.
