Kermit The Frog has always been upfront on how tough it is to be green. Yet you never catch the Muppet hanging his head in sadness and self doubt. Neither should you. It's incredibly tough being ourselves. All those voices constantly digging up bones from a past you can't change or a future we can't seem to arrange. The first step of having a great day is the accountability of actuality. What are you setting out to accomplish? Does it involve you or are you fixed on making sure all things are done to keep the boss at bay? So much creativity is lost in our everyday because we don't take the time to listen. I'm blessed with the opportunity share messages with other creative minds just starting out. To watch them try to tap into an energy source is entertaining, They know its there. That's why they're here! From the sidelines I take note of the difficulties of reaching goals, ambitions and dreams. It's not paying off as quickly as they said it would. 95% of us have no idea who we truly are. We get up, get dressed, drive the car and make our way through a day designed by habits and expectations. Ask someone who they truly are and most of the time we get shrugged shoulders or excuses as to why something isn't panning out like it should. We aren't listening to our creative self. The outside shell has to get the bills paid, buy the latest smartphone and look all pretty because that's where acceptance begins. Listening to yourself first is how you get to grow forward. I didn't say act upon. Listen. I daily write twice a day. 4:30 am then again in the late afternoon. Investing in the art of listening clears the mind body and soul. A single raindrop can't fall onto a mountainside and make it to the ocean if all is says is, "I don't have the time." Investing in yourself is a requirement. Not materialistic stuff you can later dump on eBay. Your thoughts, ideas, the flat out feeling of what it's like to be in a moment of "Now". I see so many people with creative dreams melt during times of growth. I hear every excuse to which I've used decades before. And where does any of it get us? Learning to listen to yourself empowers you to say, "Move on." Yeah... Listening to that gut feeling or new idea. Give it a voice. Listen to it. If it doesn't fit. Tell it to move on. This is your kingdom of self. Protect your investment with solid support and belief. The power to say move on.
