Today, I will be talking too several groups of ladies. Those who are cultivating a long-distance relationship with their African man and those who are dating a man within their hometown.
I want to share some important tips that will help your relationship grow even tighter and deeper.
The main thing I want to encourage you ladies to do is please keep the wrong people out of your business. Our gut feeling does work for anyone that we associate with and I have been guilty in the past of spilling the beans of my issues to the wrong folks even though my gut said: "shut up"! I reaped the pain because of this bad choice. You know deep down inside if a woman or man means you well and sometimes we choose to ignore that voice due to history with the person etc... If your family or friends dislike foreigners (Africans, Caribbean, Asians, etc) and speak bad about them, don't bring your man around them often. I have done this and an argument between the guy I was dating and a friend almost broke out because of something crazy she asked him. She asked him does he have his green card not knowing that he was a citizen for over 10 years. He was enraged that he was asked that period and in front of others so loudly. Bring your guy around friends and family that have an open mind and won't cause crazy drama.
Tip: Once you see that this African man has dated you properly and loves you deeply, and is treating like the queen that you are....then surprise him sometimes with something special.
Now I can't tell you how you and your man should spend money on these things but what I will say is usually I would go half and half with my man concerning special dates and events.
Those in long-distance relationships
1. Frequent communication is so important. That line of connection is all you have to bring ya'll together and it is important that you two at least say good morning or "what's up baby"? Every day if possible! Whatsapp, Viper, Facebook, and Snap Chat are great ways to stay in frequent touch. I have a friend that I keep in touch with every other day and I can tell if things are off when I don't hear from him. If your guy is not keeping in touch much or making excuses then he is losing interest. Don't be fooled by "he's been so busy". A guy that is into you will make sure he keeps in touch no matter how busy, trust me I have been through this.
