WEEK 14: DAY 4
TOSSED

Ephesians 4:14
Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.

Some time back while listening and speaking to a friend, i realized how easy we can be tossed if we do not have an anchor.

In life, people see what they see and say only based on what they see. Knowing that people are usually restricted by how far they see using their past and present experiences, it would be unwise to anchor on the path of others.

In as much as individuals may have good intentions, meaning well for you, they are limited in what they can offer. Even if their content is ever flowing, the container can only take as much per time.

YOU WILL LIVE LIFE TOSSED IF YOU ANCHOR ON PEOPLE'S WORDS NOT GOD'S.

James 1:6
But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind;

Why do we doubt? Because we haven't seen it work (experience). Never prioritize experience over God's Word. His Word is Truth and this supercedes facts any day.

Isaiah 54:11-13
O my afflicted people, tempest-tossed and troubled, I will rebuild you on a foundation of sapphires and make the walls of your houses from precious jewels.
I will make your towers of sparkling gate and your gates and walls of shining gems.
And all your citizens shall be taught by me, and their prosperity shall be great.

When tossed, it is usually a foundational problem, a beginning of no anchor and the solution to that is to humbly let go of opinions and seek His Truth. Giving Him the opportunity to reveal His Truth that turns dust into gems.

In His anchor, He turns deserts into fertile, watered valleys. He brings the hungry to settle there and build their cities - This is the benefit of having His Word and running with It. (See Psalm 107:26-36).

This verse comes to mind:
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Humility is knowing experience can't take the place of God's truth, it can't lead you in the path never taken and wouldn't help much in navigating through new days that come with new challenges.

It is simply wicked to anchor on experience when you have the opportunity for new results. If experience was that great, there won't be a need for healing.

I pray you desist from being tossed as you anchor on God's Word/instructions and you run with it in Jesus name, amen.
