Story Transcript:

Hu: A félelmetes Duna partján állt János, a város lármájától fáradtan. Feltűnt neki, hogy Budapest, a szolgálati út célpontja, bővelkedik bonyolult magyar szavakban. Így hát elhatározta, hogy kiejti ezeket a nehéz szavakat, leplezze reájuk ráncolódó orrát vagy sem.
En: On the intimidating banks of the Danube stood János, tired of the noise of the city. He noticed that Budapest, the destination of his business trip, abounded in complicated Hungarian words. So he decided to pronounce these difficult words, whether wrinkles formed on his forehead or not.

Hu: A mellette álló Ágnes, a barátnője és helyi idegenvezetője, észrevette a furcsa próbálkozását. Ágnes mosolygott János bonyolult szavakba való belebonyolódásán. Ahogy János próbált kiigazodni a mássalhangzók, hosszú magánhangzók és szokatlan hangsúlyok dzsungelén, Ágnes egyszerűen csak rázta a fejét.
En: Agnes, his girlfriend and local tour guide standing beside him, noticed his strange attempt. Agnes smiled at János's entanglement in complicated words. As János tried to navigate through the jungle of consonants, long vowels, and unusual accents, Agnes simply shook her head.

Hu: Közben, messze onnan, Erdélyben, van egy másik furcsa helyzet. István, egy magyar utazó, kiállt a teraszra, és romantikus szavakat suttogott Máriának, a szomszédjának. Azonban István nem volt hozzászokva a helyi nyelvhez, és néha magyar és román szavakat kevertek a szavai.
En: Meanwhile, far away in Transylvania, there was another peculiar situation. István, a Hungarian traveler, stood on the terrace and whispered romantic words to his neighbor, Mária. However, István was not accustomed to the local language and sometimes mixed Hungarian and Romanian words in his speech.

Hu: Mária mosolygott az összezavarodott István szavain. Aztán pedig nevetett. A zavar sokkal édesebb volt, mint a szavak ereje. A szavak zavarba ejtették Istvánt, de Mária szíve egyre jobban lüktetett.
En: Mária smiled at István's confused words. Then she laughed. The confusion was much sweeter than the power of words. The words bewildered István, but Mária's heart beat faster and faster.

Hu: A novellák végén mindkét pár boldog volt. János végre sikerült kiejtenie a bonyolult magyar szavakat, és Ágnes nevetésének zene volt a füleinek. István pedig rájött, hogy a szavak nem a lényeg. A fontos az, hogy őt szeresse Mária.
En: At the end of the short stories, both couples were happy. János finally managed to pronounce the complicated Hungarian words, and Ágnes's laughter was music to his ears. István, on the other hand, realized that words were not essential. What mattered was that Mária loved him.

Hu: Egy történet lezárásának következtetése egyszerű. Az emberek nyelvekkel küszködnek. De ha ezt szeretettel és humorral teszik, minden nyelv megtanulható, és minden szív meghódítható.
