show moreAs we near the close of the year, I thought it would be good idea to highlight an organization on both the state and national scale: Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. BHA is a nonprofit organization that was founded 2004 in Oregon and has since been a voice for sportsmen and women across the country by “seeking to ensure North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of wild public lands and waters.”
BHA was integral in the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act, and the West Virginia chapter is currently fighting against the redesignation of the New River Gorge, something that would strip hunters of more than 4,000 acres of public land access – areas of the NRG that are prime for whitetail and duck hunting.
So sit back, kick up your feet and enjoy Episode 3!
