Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Allahﷻ Says in the Holy Quran, Verily, for those who squander wastefully are brothers of the devils,...

Verily, for those who squander wastefully are brothers of the devils, and Satan is ever ungrateful to his Lord.
(Quran 17:27)
Mankind is poor and always needy of Allahﷻ, yet many think they are self-sufficient and rebel against their Lord by wasting Hisﷻ Gifts.
People of the end times are more wasteful than ever before. Advancement in technology and food delivery chains have made many unaware of how blessed we are to have food on our plates.
All of life today appears to be in infinite bounty, but in reality, every person has been allotted a finite share of his needs.
Before the arrival of the Angel of Death, Sayyidina Azrael Alayhi Salam, the other noble angels in-charge of a person’s rizq (sustenance) will first complete their duty of searching the entire universe to see if there is any food, drink, air and time left for him on earth. When everything he has been divinely allotted with, has reached him, then these noble angels will inform the person that the arrival of Death is upon him.
All that a person is written to have, will expire at the time pre-ordained by Allah Most High. Hence, to be wasteful is a sign of unbelief, a lack of faith that one’s rizq is fixed and will one day, come to an end.
Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adilق said in hisق recent sohbah, “to waste is to offend the Ni’mah (favour). It is the reason for favours to be gone.”
Mawlanaق also added, “the Barakah is gone because of wasting, and there is famine. There is cultivation, but because there is no Barakah, it is not enough.”
Barakah is intangible, it can only be felt when something that seems small in calculation becomes a source of sustenance for many, in uncountable folds. We must be very careful not to lose Barakah, and, to hold on to it, by being truly content and grateful with what has been given.
Holy Prophetﷺ said, “take benefit of Five before Five.
1) Your youth before your old age,
2) health before sickness,
3) wealth before poverty,
4) free time before being preoccupied and
5) your life before your death.”
Be busy not wasting the number of breaths, food, drink, money, and time you have and utilise your day in worship. Prophetﷺ said, “Your Lord Almighty said: Son of Adam, be free for My worship. I will fill your heart with richness and fill your hands with provision. Son of Adam, do not distance yourself from Me, or else I will fill your heart with poverty and fill your hands with worthless distractions.”
Hadith Qudsi
For a believer, everything he does from sleeping to working, is ibadah (worshipping). Be careful with the gifts of ‘Five before Five’, allotted by our Generous Lord for us, and be as Mawlanaق said, thankful ones, busy in charity, helping others, acquiring beneficial knowledge and teaching, in awareness of the limited amount of rizq we have been bestowed with.
May Allahﷻ make us to be people of thankfulness, not wasteful and to be made truly aware of the limits we have been written to receive, before we part ways from this life.
