show moreWill Gage is the Associate Vice President of Teaching and Learning at York University. In this role, which he has held for almost a decade, he has championed ground-breaking approaches to teaching and learning, including the purposeful inclusion of technology in the process (eLearning), experiential education and internationalization.
As he prepares to return to classroom teaching (after a well-deserved sabbatical) Will is excited to re-ignite his research in his lab at the Faculty of health around Biomechanical neuromuscular control of human movement, with a particular focus on knee and hip osteoarthritis and joint replacement surgery. He wants to explore the development of wearable technologies to gather data on how people move around with these ailments during their daily live out in the community, not just in the lab environment, so that this more comprehensive data can be used to better understand and treat these conditions.
Will’s work at the systems level has involved Working with pan-university working groups and committees as they examine, reinterpret, and deepen York’s commitment to 21st Century teaching and learning, particularly in the areas of equity, diversity, inclusivity, and Indigeneity. I have been inspired by him on a daily basis and I look forward to sharing some of his wisdom with you all today.
Join me in welcoming Will Gage to the Education Revolution!
