2023 Cricket World Cup: Everything You Need to Know The 2023 Cricket World Cup will be the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup, a quadrennial one-day international (ODI) cricket tournament contested by men's national teams and organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament will be hosted by India from 9 October to 19 November 2023.

Teams Ten teams will participate in the 2023 Cricket World Cup:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Pakistan
  • Sri Lanka
  • Bangladesh
  • West Indies
  • Afghanistan
Venues The tournament will be played at ten venues across India:
  • Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
  • Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
  • M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
  • Eden Gardens, Kolkata
  • Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
  • MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
  • Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
  • HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala
Format The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with each team playing each other once. The top four teams in the round-robin league will advance to the semi-finals, with the winners of the semi-finals advancing to the final. Schedule The tournament schedule is as follows:
  • 9 October 2023: India vs England (Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad)
  • 10 October 2023: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka (Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi)
  • 11 October 2023: Australia vs West Indies (M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru)
  • 12 October 2023: New Zealand vs Bangladesh (Eden Gardens, Kolkata)
  • 13 October 2023: South Africa vs Afghanistan (Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai)
  • ...
  • 19 November 2023: Final (Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad)
Favorites England are the defending champions, and they will be among the favorites to win the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Other teams that are expected to be competitive include India, Australia, and New Zealand. India are currently the top-ranked team in the group stage, with South Africa and Australia close behind. New Zealand are in fourth place, followed by Pakistan, Afghanistan, England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands.
