show moreAnother superb film directed by Jane Campion and a stunning performance by Benedict Cumberbatch as Phil, the rather unpleasant and menacing brother will keep you riveted to this physiological western drama as it unfolds. A study in masculinity, the good, the bad and the ugly.
The Night Comes For Us (2018)
WOW!! Definitely not for the faint of heart. Timo Tjahjanto directs this Martial Arts film and takes the violence up to 11. Iko Uwais choreographed the bloody action filled fight scenes and pushes all the boundaries. Actually has a pretty interesting story of a man trying to find freedom and redemption.
Don’t Look Up (2021)
Dr Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his assistant Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence) have made an astounding discovery… There is an asteroid the size of Mt. Everest heading directly for Earth. They try and warn the powers that be and everyone is so self absorbed that no one has any real interest. Really funny Black Comedy Satire.
Adrienne (2021)
Andy Ostroy directs this movie about his wife Adrienne Shelly who was murdered in 2006. Initially called a suicide but Ostroy knew that wasn’t possible as she was about to release her latest film “Waitress” which she directed, wrote and co-stared in. Ostry puts together an image of his wife through her many film clips. Also a kind of mystery, what happened on that fateful day.
