Got Invention Host Brian Fried interviews Alan Zach from Xprize on the Disney's Big Hero 6 Challenge-
Heroes Wanted: Kids 8 to 17 Can Change the World Through Disney’s Big Hero 6—XPRIZE Challenge
Calling all young innovators! Ready to Think Big and Win Big? XPRIZE and The Walt Disney Motion Picture Studio has created the Disney’s Big Hero 6 — XPRIZE Challenge, inviting young people nationwide between the ages of 8 and 17 to bring their innovative ideas that tackle the biggest challenges facing their community or world using science, technology, engineering, art, and/or mathematics.
Ideas need to be presented in a 1-3 minute video that will be judged on impact, originality, and presentation. There will be a crowd voting component from October 15-19 for the Top 20 videos where the public can vote for their favorite video which will be part of their overall score. The top 6 winners will travel to Los Angeles in early November to walk the red carpet at the premiere of Disney’s Big Hero 6 in Hollywood; go behind the scenes at both Disney Animation Studios and Disney Imagineering; innovate at the XPRIZE headquarters; and receive other great prizes provided by FIRST and littleBits.
Video submission is open from September 19 through October 12. Visit the official Challenge website for rules and guidelines at www.xprizechallenge.org/bighero6.
