All the team at the School Broadcasting Network are super excited to be partnering with JGI Australia’s National Youth Leadership Council in a joint fund-raising and conservation awareness project! Funds raised from the sales of 'An Antechinus in the Attic' A-Z of Australian fauna and flora picture book and interactive audio e-book will be going towards some really important youth initiatives, especially JGIA's Roots & Shoots project, Embrace the Wild. In this podcast Michaela, Esme, Luke and Reka welcome Jess Pinder, National Coordinator of The National Youth Leadership Council, back to Primary Perspectives to find out more about Embrace the Wild, which encourages young people to build habitat in their schools and own back yards for native wildlife.
Jess is a Conservation Scientist and has worked as a zoo educator, teaching young people around Australia about the importance of protecting our endangered ecosystems. Last year Jess joined the Queensland Government as a Graduate Policy Officer and her greatest passion is in communicating science to the public, by using creative mediums like art, graphic design and narratives to tell stories that really resonate – so this story book project is right up her alley!
