19 SEP 2026 · Last week – I was in The Sea of Cortez, drifting on a boat for 6 days with a small group of friends.
When we came across this Island called “Isla Espiritu Santo” translation: “Holy Spirit Island."
Now “Holy Spirit Island” is about the same size as Catalina Island, it's free of humans and totally wild. On the first night of our anchorage, the sun was setting and I was scrambling to get onto the island before dark.
So, I fired up the dingy, grabbed my iPhone and my earbuds and I headed for shore.
One of my favorite things to do when I travel is document my adventures on my phone while playing music to guide my flow.
For today’s show, I’m playing the music that I listened to while I was out there on Holy Spirit Island.
It’s a hybrid mix of TOOL, PRIMUS, PORNO FOR PYROS, and Bands that you most likely have never heard of… But the Big star of the show – is THEIVERY CORPORATION.
I hope you enjoy the journey - I know I did.

5 SEP 2026 · Last week, Kathe and I were in The City that Never Sleeps The Capitol of The World The Big Apple… New York City Where life couldn’t be more different than the life we live here in our little beach town. On the last day of our trip, I went for a walk through Hell’s Kitchen where I stumbled upon this dope Coffee shop on 44th Ave., called Saint Kilda’s Coffee. It’s one of those classic New York City shops - located below street level, and I had to check it out. When I walked in, I noticed that one of the Barista’s was wearing a “VIAGRA BOYS ’tee shirt. Now if you’re a regular listener to my show, then you know that VIAGRA BOYS are one of my favorite bands. Then I noticed the music in the background… They were playing; JOY DIVISION, BLACK MARBLE, THE CURE… And as I’m sitting there, I'm “tripping” on how good the music is. Then I look at Kathe and said: “These guys are playing the same tunes that I like to play on my show! How sick would it be to get these guys to put together a set list for my show.” So now I’m getting psyched up to go talk to these boys… Looking for my moment to approach the man in the VIAGRA BOYS tee shirt. And in true Dagwood fashion, I go to the front, I walk behind the counter (with my iPHONE in hand) and I’m filming the entire thing. In the back of my mind, I’m hoping that these guys are cool – because they don’t know me and I’m just going for it. So, I walk right up to the man wearing the tee shirt, and give him my pitch… As it turns out, the man wearing VIAGRA BOYS tee shirt is the owner of the shop. His Name is Artie - Artie said he was down to do it… So here we are… EP65 New York City Coffee Shop Punks.
It's one my best episodes.

We had a lot of fun talking story about the old school and new school legends on Laguna Beach. We talked about local surf shops, local surf breaks, the surf industry and surfboard design.
