In this satsang, Jenny Maria De La Luz beautifully weaves together insights from A Course in Miracles with interpretations of the movie A Beautiful Mind. The film tells the story of a man who sees figures that others don’t see, and though they are real to him, he ultimately learns not to believe in them. This mirrors the spiritual path of A Course in Miracles—where we too let go of the belief in dream figures and accept that they are projections from our unconscious mind. Then, as the dreamer of the dream, we have forgiven what we made up, and begin to see through the eyes of love instead of fear.
“Yet the figures that he sees were never real, for they are made up only of his reactions to his brothers, and do not include their reactions to him. Therefore, he does not see he made them.”(T-13.V.2)
Jenny Maria uses profound, “The Forgiving Dream,” Ch 29. IX, highlighting how we project fear out as the figures in our dream, making them into enemies or idols to either fear or depend on. As we let go of judgment and embrace forgiveness, the dream transforms. We no longer see the world as something happening to us but rather as a reflection of our own state of mind.
Through lesson 68, Jenny Maria reminds us that grievances create a world of suffering, where we see others as separate and project our own fears onto them. But when we let go, when we forgive, we remember who we truly are. We are of love, created by love. The dream loses its grip, and peace naturally takes its place.
Through a deep exercise, we open up to see everyone as a friend, lay down our defenses, and trust in the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Love holds no grievances because love knows no separation. In the stillness beyond judgment, we awaken to the truth: that we are safe, loved, and that we have never been apart from God. 🩷

In this meditative session, Barret touches on the theme of loneliness, and how it is an inevitable consequence of the belief in separation, which leaves us feeling afraid and isolated. He reminds us of Jesus’ words, in A Course in Miracles:
"I said that I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. That is why I am the light of the world. If I am with you in the loneliness of the world, the loneliness is gone. You cannot maintain the illusion of loneliness if you are not alone."
These words carry a deep reassurance—loneliness is not real because we are never truly alone. Jesus’ presence is constant, not as a distant figure, but as the light within us that cannot be extinguished. In reality, we are eternally connected, held in the Love of God, where no one is ever lost or forgotten.
Barret emphasises the importance of perseverance in continuing to face our difficulties, likening our spiritual journey to wiping away the cobwebs of fear, guilt, and specialness that obscure the truth. Using the simple but profound question, “What is this for?” he encourages us to reframe every challenge as an opportunity to awaken. No experience is wasted when seen through the Holy Spirit’s eyes.
Mortality is a topic that’s often feared but, in truth, is just another illusion to be seen through. Jesus' words remind us: "There is no death." Barret encourages us to look directly at this belief, not with fear, but with the certainty that we are eternal. The body is not our reality, nor is the fleeting world we seem to inhabit. By choosing to let go of identification with form, we step into our true Being. With calm sincerity, Barret leaves us with a powerful message: time is only for awakening, and we are called to use every moment for that sacred purpose.

You have one test, as sure as God, by which to recognize if what you learned is true. ²If you are wholly free of fear of any kind, and if all those who meet or even think of you share in your perfect peace, then you can be sure that you have learned God’s lesson, and not your own. ³Unless all this is true, there are dark lessons in your mind that hurt and hinder you, and everyone around you. ⁴The absence of perfect peace means but one thing: You think you do not will for God’s Son what his Father wills for him. ⁵Every dark lesson teaches this, in one form or another. ⁶And each bright lesson with which the Holy Spirit will replace the dark ones you do not accept, teaches you that you will with the Father and His Son.
6. Do not be concerned about how you can learn a lesson so completely different from everything that you have taught yourself. ²How would you know? ³Your part is very simple. ⁴You need only recognize that everything you learned you do not want. ⁵Ask to be taught, and do not use your experiences to confirm what you have learned. ⁶When your peace is threatened or disturbed in any way, say to yourself:
⁷I do not know what anything, including this, means. ⁸And so I do not know how to respond to it. ⁹And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now.
¹⁰By this refusal to attempt to teach yourself what you do not know, the Guide Whom God has given you will speak to you. ¹¹He will take His rightful place in your awareness the instant you abandon it, and offer it to Him.
