28 OCT 2020 · Leonard Reid is a clothing brand owner from Preston.
Leonard grew up in an area of Preston called Fulwood, which he describes as having "a reputation for being a nice area."
Leonard states "very few people of colour lived in Fulwood when I was growing up, so I always felt ‘black’ if that makes sense... I was raised with manners and respect, so I never got into any trouble therefore most of my experiences where positive and in a lot of cases I was treated a lot better due to being black."
He describes life in Preston nowadays by saying "I don’t feel as alienated due to their being much more people of colour in Preston. I feel like people are more open to learning more about the black culture, as I regularly get questions about my experiences and opinions on certain situations."

Joshua has spent much of his career tackling inequality whilst championing the voices of minority groups; both regionally and nationally. His work has seen him work with charitable organisations, national advocacy services, the Bank of England, and Government to name a few.

She is a keen advocate of diversity, inclusion and belonging within her local community and in the creative and wedding industries. Fundamentally, she believes everyone needs to play their role in building a better and more empathic society. Trained Graphic Designer, Bloom UK member and mentor, she currently works at Creative Agency, Elmwood, as an Account Director whilst studying for a HR and D&I Diploma.

He grew up in Nigeria, moving to the UK when he was 16 and has lived on and off in the UK ever since.
