29 OCT 2024 · There are five points on this cycle. The event, thoughts, emotions, physical symptoms and behaviors that domino. We talk about how this might show up with PTSD or the effects of blocking off one of these points. I personally have been so use to ignoring things like thoughts and emotions I can get stuck feeling remorse for behaviors and lost in a sense of having no control. Understanding this cycle and it's breakdown can encourage a moment to pause and get tuned into what's happening within us so we can alter behaviors and not allow anger to take the driver's seat in life.

10 SEP 2024 · Today I share a pamphlet that I found in the rooms of AA. It's titled A merry go round named denial. I apply this to any of us that might be in denial of any problems or behavior. Anyone can be in denial of something that is still serving us especially if we don't see the benefits of that behavior clearly or have positioned ourselves as the victim in the circumstances. I share what other roles are played in keeping us on the merry go round to shed some light on what role we might be playing in our own lives.

3 SEP 2024 · Today we are going over the stages of change. I use the example of changing my eating and how that decision recently came to be an action rather than a looming thought. There are six stages and we actually start by discussing the relapse in behavior and how there are patterns that emerge before the relapse behavior happens.
