  • Raymond Lewis 7:4:24 10.15 PM

5 JUL 2024 · Story by: Gail Nobles Photo: Los Angeles Times Usage: Wikipedia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Lewis eighteenth in the first round of the 1973 NBA draft. By all accounts he played spectacularly during rookie camp, outplaying Doug Collins, the No. 1 pick in the draft and a star for the 1972 U.S. Olympic team. However, after a contract dispute, the 76ers said Lewis walked out. According to Lewis in 1985, 76ers coach Gene Shue told him to sit out a year and mature. The following year Lewis said he left because the 76ers "tore up my original agreement and said, 'Now you have to make the team.' There were 12 guys on the team with guaranteed contracts. I said, 'Wait a minute.' In his second professional year he tried to play for the ABA's Utah Stars but the 76ers threatened a lawsuit that kept him from playing. In 1975, he was invited back to Philadelphia one more time, for the third year of his three-year contract, but did not make the team. Lewis battled alcoholism and depression for the later part of his life. He died in February 2001 of complications following amputation of an infected leg and a stroke.  I've seen the documentary on Raymond Lewis. He could really play basketball. They said the things he did on the court was how the players played today. Raymond, I'm sure was before his time, and it seemed the NBA didn't want him.  Raymond would run down the court with the ball doing back dribbles. He was just unstoppable. He made his shots. When he reached 30 years old, he was still that good and never played in the NBA. He must've had something that Magic Johnson and Dr. J and all the other great players didn't have. They must have feared him. They had to. How are you not going to want someone as good as Raymond Lewis?  Some people just don't want to see people make it, and when things are not so good in their lives, they wonder why. Raymond Lewis still made history with his God-given talent. He may not have made history the way Dr. J and all those other players made it, but he made history.  Raymond Lewis was so good the NBA didn't want him. Like I said, they feared him. Because as good as he was, he should have been able to play in the NBA. You’re listening to EPS. I’m your host, Gail Nobles. Today’s topic: Raymond Lewis. A legend.

  • Resurren Meets George Stilts 7:3:24 2.02 PM

3 JUL 2024 · Story: Resurren Meets George Stilts The Mighty Air Gliders  Story and art by: Gail Nobles ©️2024 George Stilts played on an exhibition basketball team called The Mighty Air Gliders. He had been watching Resurren play ball on the playground from a distance. George didn’t want her to know that he was watching.   One cool dark night Resurren was shooting hoops alone. She heard a voice speaking to her.    George: You won’t have to worry about old Jack helping you to get nowhere. You don’t need him. One day soon I’m going to have you. Resurren saw a tall young man standing far off from her, and she couldn’t see his face very well.  Resurren: Have me? What are you talking about? Do I know you? George: You’re going to be on my team. They’ll be no playing around. I’ll be training you to work on the court up and down.  Resurren: Work? George:  Players need to practice their skills, work on their fitness, and strategize with their team in order to be successful on the court. It takes dedication, perseverance, and a competitive mindset to come out on top in basketball. Just like in any job, hard work and effort are required to achieve success. But the rewards of victory and the thrill of competition make it all worth it in the end. If you play on my team, you’ll be on a winning team getting paid. Resurren: Who are you? What’s the name of that team you’re talking about?  George turned and walked away. Resurren didn’t try to follow him. She felt a little nervous about being in the dark alone after talking to the stranger and she went inside. Her home was not far from the playground. Resurren never heard the voice of the stranger again until  her senior year.  One day five famous female girls from the Mighty Air Gliders challenged Resurren and her high school team. They started pushing Resurren around. Everyone thought they were trouble. Nobody knew who the girls really were. Not even Resurren. But the teachers and the principal knew. They were planning something for the schools. Rezza and her high school basketball team were in an event that provided scholarships. Both male and female basketball teams. The female Cobras played against the female Mighty Air Gliders who disguised themselves as the Hoop Stars.  They were playing in a tournament where the winning team would receive scholarships for college. The stakes were high, as many of the girls and guys participating were hoping to earn a scholarship to continue their education after high school. The pressure was on, but they were determined to give it their all and come out on top.  In the end,The Cobras and The Hoop Stars were the last teams to play against each other, both the male team and female team. The female Cobras lost by 10 points against the female Hoop Stars, and the male Cobras lost 15 points against the male Hoop Stars. In the end, The Hoop Stars revealed that they were the famous Mighty Air Gliders. The male and female Cobras lost against them but still received scholarships for being in the number 1 spot over the other shool teams, showcasing their talent and potential to succeed at a higher level of competition. The scholarships allowed them to pursue their college education without the burden of heavy student loans, opening up new opportunities and possibilities for their futures. The experience of winning the tournament and earning the scholarships had a lasting impact on the students, instilling in them a sense of confidence and determination that would serve them well in their future endeavors. There were also 2nd and 3rd place cash and prizes.  As Resurren happily walked down the hall later that day to her locker to go home, she heard the voice that spoke to her in the dark. George: Remember, one day you’re going to be on my team, but not now. When Resurren turned aound to look behind her, it was George Stilts. She knew then who had spoken to her in the dark. It was one of the Mighty Air Gliders.

  • Jaylen Brown’s Fiery Slam & More 6:29:24 2.11 PM

29 JUN 2024 · Story by: Gail Nobles Basketball slam: https://www.freesfx.co.uk Crowd: https://mixkit.co Photo: https://www.flickr.com/people/27003603@N00 Usage: Wikipedia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0 Awesome slam from Jaylen Brown on two men. They just couldn't stop him!Hello! I'm Gail Nobles on EPS (Entertainment Podcasting Sports). It was the 2024 NBA finals game 1:  Dallas Mavericks versus Boston Celtics. In that game, I saw Jaylen Brown make an unstoppable slam. Dallas was at 26 and Celtics at 42 and Jalen's fiery slam moved the Celtics up to 44 in the second half.  The final was 89 to 107 Celtics. Jaylen Brown lead the Celtics with 22 points. He looks like another leader for the Celtics, and a three-time NBA All-Star and reached the Eastern Conference finals six times with Boston. He helped the Celtics reach the 2022 and 2024 NBA finals winning a championship and finals MVP award in the latter.  Jaylen Brown is awesome in several areas on the basketball court making points, rebounds, blocks, steals, three-pointers, and assists.  He is another player that is very valuable on the Boston Celtics team. Will Celtics bring home another championship for 2025? We shall see?

  • Could Big3 Have Their Own TV Station? 6:29:24 10.36 AM

29 JUN 2024 · Photo: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Photobra - Own work Usage: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0 Story by: Gail Nobles Big3 is a 3-on-3 basketball league founded by hip-hop musician and actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz.  The league’s games can be watched on CBS. The teams compete from late June through mid August. You can also watch them on YouTube. It is now as popular as traditional basketball. Big3 is now established and is a popular alternative for basketball fans during the NBA off-season. Could Big3 have their own TV station? Why not? It's not impossible for a person who owns their own sports league to also own a TV station for broadcasting their league’s games. This would allow the league owner to have full control over the broadcast rights and production of their games, potentially increasing revenue and exposure for the league. Ice Cube seems pretty intelligent enough to do so although TV station can require significant financial investment and resources. It could be a challenge.

  • Jayson Tatum 6:29:24 9.11 AM

29 JUN 2024 · Story by: Gail Nobles Photo: Wikipedia  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0 The Boston Celtics are the number one team in the NBA right now of 2024. When you think of the Boston Celtics, you probably think of Jayson Tatum. He's a five-time NBA All-Star and four-time all NBA selection. Tatum was named the NBA Eastern conference finals most valuable player in 2022 and helped the Celtics reached the NBA finals in 2024. He led the team to a league - best 64 wins and a championship in the NBA finals. He won a gold medal with 2020 US Olympic team in Tokyo. He hold the records for most points scored in an NBA All-Star game (55) and most points scored in game seven of any NBA playoff series (51).  The Boston Celtics definitely need to keep Jayson Tatum. Keeping him on the team ensures a bright future for the Boston Celtics with Tatum. I think it's possible that the Celtics can win the championship again for 2025, but the Celtics need to stay strong. There is big competition in the NBA and every team will be fighting for the title but with Jayson Tatum's talent and potential there is certainly a possibility that the Celtics could bring home another championship in 2025.

  • The Rugby League 5:15:24 2.24 PM

15 MAY 2024 · Photo: digiarnie - https://www.flickr.com/photos/digiarnie/2991079495/ Usage: Wikipedia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0 Rugby League football commonly known as rugby league in English-speaking countries is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 m (74 yd) wide and 112–122 m (122–133 yd) long with H-shaped posts at both ends. It is one of the two major codes of rugby football, the other being rugby union.[a] It originated in 1895 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, as the result of a split from the Rugby Football Union (RFU) over the issue of payments to players. The rules of the game governed by the new Northern Rugby Football Union progressively changed from those of the RFU with the specific aim of producing a faster and more entertaining game to appeal to spectators, on whose income the new organisation and its members depended. In rugby league, points are scored by carrying an oval ball and touching it to the ground beyond the opposing team's goal line; this is called a try, and is the primary method of scoring, worth four points. The opposing team attempts to stop the attacking side scoring points by tackling the player carrying the ball and denying forward progress. Field goals or drop goals can be attempted from the hand at any time for a single point, and following a successful try, the scoring team gains a free kick to try at goal with a conversion worth a further two points.[3] Penalty kicks at goal, known simply as penalties, may also be awarded for general foul play, and are also worth two points.  Rugby league looks like a fun football game to play though it's different than American football, but they are also similar.  I've been seeing rugby league football in newsfeeds. A rugby league football player named David Fifita is very popular in the news.  I'm Gail Nobles. Thanks for tuning in to Entertainment Podcasting Sports.

  • Ballplayers In Trouble 5:8:24 6.42 PM

8 MAY 2024 · Story by: Gail Nobles Cover art by: Gail Nobles Sometimes I have to wonder why some of the ball players are in trouble. If they could just stay calm and go on with their careers. Lately in the headlines I've been seeing Rashee Rice who plays on the Kansas City Chiefs team. I hate the headlines I've been seeing about him. Every time I look and every time I turn around I see somebody's name with a career that has the word alleged assault.  Rashee Rice is accused of assault at Dallas nightclub. Dallas police have reportedly opened a new criminal investigation into Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashi Rice. He's already charged with eight felonies for a high-speed hit and run crash in late March that injured four people. Rashee has a football career. I don't understand why he's getting into all that trouble. He's got something to look forward to in life.   I don't understand any ball player that gets into so much trouble. I don't understand the domestic violence of some ball players. I don't understand the sexual assault cases. Ball players get suspended and something needs to be done. Every time I turn around somebody's getting arrested on assault charges. There is no excuse. They need to stay out of trouble. A ball player can be a positive example, and they have the power to turn somebody else's life around that’s down. They could be doing positive things to make this a better world. If a ball player or anyone for that matter has a career and maybe came from a rough town or city in crime can change. They can make a difference in their life and maybe somebody else's life.  I know that they are human too and sometimes face challenges and struggles like anyone else. But if they could just avoid getting into trouble with the law and move on to have a wonderful career. I'm Gail Nobles. Thank you for listening to Entertainment Podcasting Sports.

  • Master P 4:2:24 8.04 PM

3 APR 2024 · Story by: Gail Nobles Ending music by: Gail Nobles Today's topic Master P  Master P has a lot of occupations. He is a rapper, songwriter, record producer, record executive, entrepreneur, investor, businessman, actor, and professional basketball player. Master P was smart to become all those things. He's got security. In case he goes broke in one thing, he can be rich in another. Master P doesn't lay all his eggs in one basket.  Basketball really looks like something for Master P. I read about how he was on the Charlotte Hornets training camp roster in 1999. He was on the Toronto Raptors. He signed with the San Diego Stingrays in 2004. Master P played for the ABA’s  Las Vegas Rattlers, and Long Beach Jam, and the list goes on. Looks like he has a great love for basketball. I've also read that Master P has obtained ownership of the global mixed gender basketball team in his hometown the New Orleans Gators. Master P is Percy “Master P” Miller. I’m GN. • A7FL Shnow Tribe Lost at Zero 3:24:24 9.18 PM

25 MAR 2024 · Intro by: Gail Nobles Story by: Gail Nobles Cover Art by: Gail Nobles Background voice actor: Gail Nobles Many times it’s been said no helmets; no pads. No kickoffs & field goals. Just 3 throwing players and one receiver. Today I’m going to talk about two A7FL teams. Shnow Tribe VS BIC. The Shnow Tribe is an A7FL team that can bury you deeply under. I’ve seen them at 6 to 0 Shnow Tribe, in the first half of a game in 2022. They won that game 40 to 27. They can be a pretty impressive team. They learn how another team plays and Shnow Tribe plays hard to win.   Today it was cold and windy. On March 24, 2024, the Shnow Tribe played against BIC. They lost against BIC. The score was 0 to 42. It wasn’t 0 degrees for BIC with a winning score. BIC was hot. Ashanti Worthy made a touch down right away at the beginning of the game waving his finger looking back while running. He made the BIC team 6 points in the first quarter. Worthy was wearing black and red with his team. Black and red together symbolizes power and dominance. The BIC team kept scoring all the way through the game leaving Shnow Tribe at 0. Now the Shnow Tribe team has something to think about before they play again. A7FL has just begun and Shnow Tribe maybe just got off to a bad start. This isn’t the first time that the Shnow Tribe team lost to BIC at zero. It happened in 2022. The Shnow Tribe defiantly will need a rematch.
