As a high school student, he was a four-sport varsity athlete in cross country, wrestling, track, and soccer. Evan Sommer earned the Iron Raider Award for his involvement in three varsity sports within one school year. Evan Sommer landed cross country team state champion for Walton High School and was voted most valuable runner by Walton coaches in 2019.

Over his high school career, Evan Sommer led various sports teams to championships and was placed on the Dean's List. Evan Sommer uses his sports skills to give back to his community through volunteer work with children with disabilities and as a camp counselor and mentor.
