    25 JUN 2024 · Our special guest will be 29 year FDNY veteran Lt. Mike Roy. Mike is a 3rd generation FDNY fireman. His Grandfather worked in 1937 at Engine 47 and later Engine 89. His Father in 1963 at Engine 96. He joined the FDNY in July 1987 and was assigned to Ladder 1 in Manhattan. In 1991 he transferred to Squad 41. He then after working at the 1996 Olympics with the NYTF1 FEMA team transferred to Rescue 4. He worked there until his promotion to Lieutenant in Oct 2000. He was a Rescue team Manager for the SOC operation at the WTC for the first 3 weeks after 9/11. He transferred to Squad 61 in April 2002 until his retirement in 2006. We will get the whole skinny. In May 1974 he transferred to Ladder 103. He worked there until his promotion to Fire Marshall in may 1984. He retired in 1989. I am sure he hasn't seen any fire. He transferred to Rescue 1 in 1998 and worked there until his retirement in 2014. As you can imagine he has been involved with some incredible and unique rescues and fires over the years throughout his career but especially in Manhattan. We will get the whole skinny.     14 JUN 2024 · Our special guests will be 24 year FDNY veteran Dennis Hargett along with his son Mike, and his Dad 25 year FDNY veteran George Hargett. (We might get the kid on too :) .. George Hargett stepped into Engine 252 in 1967 and his son Dennis into Engine 235 in 1982. Their grandson/son Michael is currently following in his fathers footsteps and also working in Engine 235. The Hargetts are one of only two black FDNY families where three generations -- grandfather, father and son -- have served in the NYC Fire Department. From the Daily News 2018: - “Seeing my son walk across that stage really made me feel proud and my heart is filled with joy today,” Dennis added. “He made history not only in our family, but also in the best fire department in the world and I’m just so proud that he has this distinguished honor.” - “Celebrating all of this today is really beautiful and words can’t describe how happy I am for my grandson and our family,” George added. “This is the best job in the world and now we have my grandson continuing the legacy and that’s really special.” .....Good Stuff...You don’t want to miss this one. Joe’s father was a 34 year FDNY veteran firefighter in Engine 88 and Engine 306 as well as his brother Michael, also a firefighter in Engine 315, Engine 216 and Ladder 7. He was Appointed in May 1979, assigned Engine 319, Did a 2 month detail in Ladder 138 and then Ladder 151. In 1982 transferred to Ladder 129. In 1996 he again transferred to Ladder 152 and finished out his career and retired 2001. He is the author of The Healthy Firehouse Cook book in 1995, The Firehouse Grilling Cookbook in 1998, Monutza The Firefighting Elephant children's book in 2006, and American Firehouse Cuisine cookbook in 2011. He has appeared several times on “Live with Regis”, Martha Stewart, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Saturday Morning, FOX N.Y. and many others. He has been featured in the New York Times, The Daily News, The NY Post, Eating Well and Bon Appetit. You don’t want to miss this one. Since his death-defying rescue 115ft above the Ohio River, his life has been a whirlwind of interviews and appearances. He has gotten much of the attention since the incident, but he has quickly praised the other guys at the incident from his department. “Everybody did their jobs that day. I’m still a new guy in the department. You’ve got guys that have been doing this stuff for fifteen, twenty years. I’m just getting started.” ... That's our kind of guy....
