The job of being a father isn't easy, with ups and downs but still being able to guide them help them and set them on the right path. I love being a father, my sons made it easy for me, because of their mother's, I give them all the credit. Yes, there are some sports to talk about but Father's day takes center stage today. 8 JUN 2025 · The GURU pays his respects to a great radio show that has left us way too soon. Beatle and Decker has left the air waves to be replaced by something else from noon to three. Michelle Beadle, the superstar legend that has worked everywhere from Sports Nation to the Muary Show, was the leader of a dynamic duo with her right-hand man Cody Decker. Decker, a former Minor League superstar and MLB player, gave us three hours of sports, comedy, and life lessons that made everyone feel like you were on the phone with your sister and brother. The decision to take them off the air came as a shock to everyone, including some of the host on their SiriusXM channel. The GURU TALKIN SPORTS podcast is thankful and gratefully appreciative for the two years together and the impact you both had on me. It's only a small thing that I can do to repay you for your time, respect, and friendship. We all love you, Franklin and Winnie, and hope to hear your outstanding chemistry together again soon. The Indiana Pacers has reached the NBA Finals for the second time in franchise history, seeking their first NBA championship. They will be matched up with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the crown. The Edmonton Oilers are heading back to the Stanley Cup Final against a very familiar opponent, the Florida Panthers. The rematch will feature the Oilers seeking the first Stanley Cup for Canada since 1993. The Panthers are looking for rare back to back championships. The GURU also gives his thoughts on the passing of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay and the Colts franchise. Thanks again for listening, and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. 18 MAY 2025 · This was a very chaotic! From the New York Knicks eliminating the Boston Celtics,to the firing of Brandon Hyde. Ok, the clueless Commissioner of Baseball washed his hands with the Pete Rose situation. He took Rose and Joe Jackson off the permanently banned from baseball list. What a coward! You gotta hear my thoughts on that. The 150th Preakness was held at Pimlico racetrack for the final time. In 2026, the race will be at Laurel racetrack, making it's return in 2027. I'm really disgusted with sports right now, check out the rest of this episode, to hear more.

The Celtics had a very rough few games at home, but rebounded to get a win in The Garden versus the New York Knicks. Abdul Carter settled on wearing number 51, instead of 11 and 56. Retired numbers are retired for a special reason. We send out our condolences to former Detroit Tigers legend Chet Lemon. Chet passed away at the age of 70 this week. Happy Mother's Day to everyone. Congrats to the Denver Nuggets on kicking the Clippers out of the NBA Playoffs. The Clippers ARE A JOKE! They will NEVER WIN ANYTHING WITH HARDEN AND SIMMONS....HAHAHA 😅🤣😂, the GURU hates the Clippers! The Lakers and Kings are sitting at home, due to bad coaching in the playoffs. Let's Go Maple Leafs and Golden Knights. They are the two teams in the NHL playoffs that I'm still rooting for, along with the Celtics in the NBA. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to the family of Ruth Buzzi, a groundbreaking comedian from the late 60's. She passed away on Friday at the age of 88. We will be back next week with Episode 268. Jack Bech was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders, his brother was killed in New Orleans on New Years eve in a tragic car accident. The NBA Playoffs are absolutely amazing. The Oklahoma City Thunder broke out the broom on Memphis. The play that shocked the world was the dunk by Aaron Gordon to beat the Los Angeles Clippers. We had to say goodbye to the Pope and the TV show The Connor's. The GURU will see you next weekend and we will talk about the Kentucky Derby. I'm going with Journalism. Episode 267 next week. Later.

The NBA Playoffs are here and I'm not liking what I'm seeing from the Los Angeles Lakers. Please, don't let the Minnesota TWolves take another one from you at home. We paid homage to a former Milwaukee Bucks legend, Junior Bridgeman. We acknowledged his passing that was just noticed yesterday during the Bucks playoff game. 6 APR 2025 · We lost another giant in the world of acting. Val Kilmer was a cool, funny at times with a smooth style that will never be matched. Kilmer passed away this past Tuesday, of pneumonia, after a long battle with throat cancer. The first minutes was dedicated to his final screen appearance with Tom Cruise in Top Gun Maverick. We also listened to an interview with Larry King on the thoughts of another Top Gun movie. Rest in peace to Doc Holliday, Iceman and my personal favorite when he played Jim Morrison in the movie, The Doors. Alex Ovechkin is one goal away from the record that we all thought that couldn't be broken, Wayne Gretzky's record for the most regular season goals. Both are currently tied with 894 career goals. Today, history could be made. The NFL Draft is coming up in 18 days, as we get closer, we will talk more about it. The NCAA championships are here.
