On May 15, 2023, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent gathered over 500 members of the early childhood and child care community at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre for a system-wide day of Professional Learning. Heartwork and So Much More was an opportunity for the community to connect with each other, and continue to build awareness and capacity around the four foundational principles in the How Does Learning Happen Framework: Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement and Expression.

20 NOV 2023 · Mino Giizhajad leads a unique, early childhood education program on Walpole Island where, from a very early age, children are immersed in the Anishinaabe language. Mino Giizhajad joins Nadine Ladouceur to reflect on the power of the Language Nest (Nwewnan Sasaang), the metaphor of "nest" and the importance of language as part of the identity journey of all human beings.

She is also part of the Chatham-Kent Ambassador program and she dropped by to talk about the importance of mentorship in early years education, and how the Ambassador program has been created as an important part of the mentorship journey.
20 NOV 2023 · Lauren Uher is the founder of https://www.bloomwellnessck.com/ In 2018 Lauren opened her own private practice to serve the community through counselling. She primarily works with kids, teens and young adults. She has also been involved with pediatric crisis intervention and long-term and crisis counselling. Lauren focuses on the mind-body connection, and understands that there are many moving parts to bring healing.
We were able to spend some time with Lauren to talk a little more about wellness in the early childhood education context.

Justin Langlois is a Dad, Stepdad, Bilingual Registered Early Childhood Educator, and Certified Self Reg Champion from The Mehrit Centre. Having been a RECE for nearly 10 years, Justin can be found wearing a super-hero cape while engaging with children at the EarlyON Centre in Tilbury, Ontario.
Shaun Moore is a Dad, Registered Early Childhood Educator, Child and Youth care graduate, and is currently working toward his Forest Practitioner certificate. Currently Shaun works at an Early On Centre.
