17 JUL 2026 · In this episode of Help Me, Ronda! Ronda Chervin talks about three of her books: alkaholics, Tinsel Talk, and (co-authored with Bob Sizemore) Nuggets of Wisdom (July 11, 2026)
Talkaholics: Fate or Work-in-ProgressBy Ronda Chervin
Why would I ever think I talk too much? Here are some tiny stories to show you why:“Ronda,” asked my spiritual director, “what would it be like if you joined a table (at the seminary where I was teaching and took my meals) and didn’t talk first?”“Ronda,” a co-professor at a university told me: “when you interrupt me while I am talking it feels as if you think nothing I am saying is important, only what you say!”“Ronda,” a mentor asked me: “how many sentences do you enunciate which start with the word I”?“Ronda,” someone said: “it’s as if when I talk your foot is on the brake, but ready in a second to jump onto the accelerator to say what you wanted to say, not as a response, but just what you happen to think is more important.”During a conversation with another talkaholic, David Dowd, a co-author of mine of the book “Always a New Beginning, ” we joked this way: “How about we start a group called Talkaholics Anonymous?”

Tinsel Talk: Fakery or Pleasantry? Ronda Chervin
Tinsel Talk: Fakery or Pleasantry? by Ronda Chervin explores the subtle ways everyday language can obscure truth through euphemism, exaggeration, and convention. Drawing from philosophy, spirituality, and lived experience, Chervin examines common expressions that soften, distort, or sentimentalize reality. With wit and pastoral insight, she invites readers into a mindful, charitable use of words—one that balances honesty with kindness and seeks to align speech with a deeper love of truth.

8 JUL 2026 · In this episode of Help Me, Ronda! Ronda Chervin talks about her book Floating to the Shore of Eternity: Last Journals of Ronda Chervin (2022-2024) (July 4, 2026)
One of the most wonderful images I thought I received from Jesus in the 8th decade of my life was this: “Stop dog-paddling in the waves of life and let Me float you to the shore of eternity.” Gradually I have slowed down on speaking at conferences or for parish groups. This year, my 86th, I stopped writing big books and wrote, instead, lots of small booklets, as well as a compendium of my best thoughts under the title of https://enroutebooksandmedia.com/soundbytes/. Now I sensed, in prayer, that the Holy Spirit wanted me to make my last small book the journals still unpublished of 2022-2024. Unless I “get” a huge gust of insight after this, Floating to the Shore of Eternity will be the last time I write anything except responses to e-mails! I am a little scared since I have so long defined myself as a writer. Addicted to labeling and to acting like a “drama queen” it seems daunting to imagine myself under the label of “Old Penitent” or “Pseudo-Contemplative.” Let go, let God! And so begins these most recent thoughts of mine.

29 JUN 2026 · In this episode of Help Me, Ronda!, Ronda Chervin talks about her book, co-authored with Al Hughes, titled Escaping Anxiety: Along the Road to Spiritual Joy.
Escaping Anxiety: Along the Road to Spiritual Joy is not a “simple” book of advice that could prove ineffective because it's too “pat.” Instead, it evolved into something that could actually be a new genre! How so? Well, have you ever seen a book of spiritual advice where confidentiality was not an issue because the directee is a co-author and, what is more, one whose personal journals throughout the years have been published! Our book takes the form of a chronicle of the process employed by a well-trained spiritual director as she helps a Catholic leader struggle to open herself to the graces that brought her from excessive anxiety to spiritual joy. Our goals are to help readers suffering from excessive anxiety and to provide insights for mentors of such people, including priests, religious, and lay pastoral ministers.

Even though Weeping with Jesus is not designed to help with such forms of grief, what you read could help you encounter the personal love of Jesus for you in any kind of heartbreak.
