6-23-24 “Afraid of God? It’s Crazy!” by Pastor Glen
24 JUN 2024 · In Mark 4 we witness Jesus in a boat sleeping during a furious, terrifying storm. The disciples were confused and finally woke Jesus out of their fear. Jesus spoke a word and the wind and waves calmed. And the disciples were suddenly terrified of Jesus. With what God spoke to Job in the Old Testament reading, it seems that there is actually an appropriate fear we should have of God. But this sounds crazy, doesn’t it? We’ll wrestle with this tension. 6-2-24 “Listening to Voices? It’s Crazy!” by Pastor Glen
3 JUN 2024 · We continue our new summer series this week, It’s Crazy!, by thinking about voices. Who or what are we listening to these days? In the Old Testament reading, Samuel didn’t know it was the Lord who was talking to him, preparing to call Samuel to be a great prophet and leader of His people. If we’re listening to God’s voice, that can seem a little crazy to some people, especially as counter-cultural that God’s voice to us can be. Or the way St. Paul expresses what our faith in Jesus is can also sound crazy! Even the Gospel reading from Mark 2 has Jesus talking about the Sabbath, seeming to contradict what the religious leaders of the day were saying and teaching and doing. Whose voice are we listening to? As always, if you can’t be here in-person, take advantage of our live stream option. 5-5-24 “Our Journey With Jesus: Healthy Relationships” by Pastor Robin
6 MAY 2024 · Our Easter series, Our Journey With Jesus, continues this week with our next Mark of Discipleship which is, “A commitment to ministry through healthy relationships – be a team player. Mark 6:7” This is a Mark of Discipleship that talks about the importance of the ministry within the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ is probably the Bible’s most powerful image of what it means for us to be in relationship together living in the reality that God created us to experience – oneness with Him and with each other. Because of our Risen Lord, we are connected, we give honor to each other, we are interdependent, and we each have a role to play in joining Jesus in His mission of grace and love. 4-28-24 "Our Journey With Jesus: Discipling Another” by Pastor Glen
29 APR 2024 · Jesus uses the imagery of a vine and branches to make the point of how important it is that we stay connected to Him. But where does that connection lead?
