4 MAR 2020 · You got to do this and you to do this; it was just the way we grew up. I just accepted the fact that we sat at the back of the bus, stand at the back of the line; white folks were first, and we were second. That's just the way it was."
For those who grew up during the Jim Crow years, segregation and discrimination was an ingrained way of life. However, this way of life wasn't centuries ago. This way of life occurred after the civil war in the 1860s through the late 1960s. And today, there are many African Americans living who can share stories of their lives and experiences during the toughest and hardest chapters of American History.
Today, on "IN THE KNOW with Tony Reeves", I'm starting my 'Living Black History' series with 30 year teacher, Jim Crow Survivor, Glenda Reeves (my mother), who grew up in the South during Jim Crow and Integration.

12 MAY 2020 · When I turned 30, I had just finished my first year of law school and was heading into my 2nd year. Over a year before, I was a Naval Officer stationed with the Marines and a year later, I was a college student.
We often focus on age 18 or 21 as the great milestones in our lives but it's age 30 when we start making significant life challenges.
From age 30 to 34, I had attended and graduated from law school, got my first legal job, married my girlfriend and proceeded to make a litany of life decisions while transitioning into 'grown folks territory'.
Here is the first part of my 5 part series '30s, 40s, 50s and Beyond' as I talk about what I learned through age 30 to 34.
20 MAY 2020 · If the average male lives to the age 75 and the average female lives to the age of 76, ages 35 to 39 is the mid life portion of your life. At this point in your life, you have been in the work force (along with an college, trade school, or specialized training) for, at least, 17 years. At this point, at least for me, I started exploring my passions while also working in my profession. I had a few life altering decisions during that time (i.e. buying a home, starting my own law firm) and it was truly an adventure.
I hope you can learn from my journey.

YOUR standard is OUTSTANDING. They are trying to get The benefit of your OUTSTANDING effort by saying your OUTSTANDING is GOOD!
23 JUL 2020 · \How many people are hearing about how you have to pick one side or the other? The economy? Your health? They are both connected. I spent 6 years as a Safety and Health professional (3 years as a Senior Safety and Health Specialist and 3 years as an Industrial Hygiene officer) and I have a Masters of Public Health focusing on Industrial Hygiene. I learned the two are connected and here is why it should be important to you.
24 JUL 2020 · Did you know that your time in volunteer organizations says a lot about you? How many times have you been asked to lead a committee? These little things say a lot about you and it's time you showcase those skills.
27 JUL 2020 · There are many people who have never been to a homeless shelter.. These places are a vital resource to a large segment of our population. When I was a practicing attorney, I visited a client at a shelter and got a different perspective about the importance of these resources.
