20 NOV 2024 · At a recent Ely City Council meeting a former councilman came out in favor of the boondoggle known as the White Pine Pumped Storage project.  The former councilman claimed that it would bring twelve million dollars annually to the tax base.  Has the former councilman forgotten the Spring Valley Wind Farm which made similar promises, then got tax abatements that essentially nullified all those promises.  Plus the Wind Farm didn’t steal our water to the tune of eighteen million gallons a year.  Don’t be fooled by what will no doubt be future broken promises by the carpetbaggers at r-plus hydro. Having seen how popular the platform was from the inside, I can tell you that the majority of Americans are of the mold of Ross Perot’s old Reform Party, Fiscal Conservatives and Social libertarians - that is, let people live their own lives. As the producer of (Perot's) Vice Presidential Candidate Pat Choate's talk show, I saw from the inside how the Democrat and Republican parties control the system at the Federal Election Commission to suppress those outside the Big Two. Only by the groundswell of YOU, those who believe in Making America Great Again, taking control of the Republican Party and away from those RINOS, can America become prosperous and live it’s best life. Get involved with your local Republican Party and truly become the party of the people.

8 NOV 2024 · We talk about the pride of voting.  The pride of being part of the process.  But there is a disengagement in the number of responsible people willing to get involved in local government.  Of people not tied to the local political machines and well connected churches to get involved in politics.  There was only one contested race on the Ely City council, and no contested races for School board or Hospital board.  But NO ONE chose to run for the  Baker Sewer/Water Board, the McGill Ruth Sewer Water Board, Soil Conservation District, or the White Pine Television District.  Make no mistake about it, there are a lot of people who love to complain about government, but there are fewer and fewer who want to get involved.  God bless people like George Chachas who not only complain, but run.  And to those of you like Ms. Pintar and Ms. Moreno who complain but do nothing, perhaps it’s time to put up or shut up.Â

6 NOV 2024 · Thank you for turning out to vote.  85.32% of white pine county registered voters -over 4200 citizens -turned out to vote in this election cycle.  And with your help, Question 3 Ranked ChoiceVoting went down to defeat despite $19 million dollars of out of state money supporting it, and Question 7, Voter ID, passed.  It will be on the ballot again before it goes to the constitution.  Your vote is your voice, and you used it.  Congratulations, and thank you for voting. .Â

31 OCT 2024 · Numbers from the Secretary of State’s office show that Nevada Voters are motivated to make sure their vote is counted in this Presidential Election year.  Early Voting ends Friday at 6pm.  Get out and vote now.  Your vote matters more than ever.  And if Question 3 passes, it will lead to a more confusing and difficult election season in 2026.  Vote NO on Question 3, Get out and vote today, and hear your vote count Tuesday night from 6 until 10 and Wednesday morning at 8 right here on KELY.  But don’t wait.  Vote early.  You never know what will happen between now and Tuesday.Â

6 OCT 2024 · You’re hearing a lot of talk about Question 3 - how opening up the primary system would be fair to independents.  But regardless of how fair the supporters want to frame this question, it would not just open our elections, it would radically transform our elections into something that would be a socialist nightmare.  Ranked Choice Voting, hidden in Question 3, is a nightmare that favors incumbents and puts any challenger at a massive disadvantage.  If Question 3 prevails  the top four vote-getters to advance to the general election, regardless of party affiliation.  That means Conservatives, in a state dominated by extremist liberals in Clark and Washoe County, could never win statewide office again.  Vote NO on Question 3.Â
