3 OCT 2021 · MAN IN THE MIRROR is continuing our book club. We've been reading and discussing Don Wood's book THE GOOD WORK. Don is coming on monthly to discuss this bestseller. In tonight's episode, we will be discussing chapter 7 "The Good Works Builds Trust." "The gap between a man and God is not something a man can close. Like the Grand Canyon, the chasm separated us from Him. The gap is the result of my sin--my dysfunctional attitude and lack of trust, my evil desires, my faulty understanding of who He is, and my failure of realizing the enormity of my sin in His sight and the price that was paid to free me. It is also the result of my ignorance of what constitutes the great righteousness of God, which would reveal the depth of His indescribable love for me." 1 AUG 2021 · MAN IN THE MIRROR is continuing our book club. We've been reading and discussing Don Wood's book THE GOOD WORK. Don is coming on monthly to have a discussion about this bestseller. In tonight's episode, we will are discussing 5 "Wave the White Flag."
"I waved the white flag. God revealed to me the depth of my sin. At first, I felt awful and hopeless, but when I looked in the commandments, I came to the realization that God wanted to help me to have the right attitude and relationship with Him so that I could be free. There's no formula that can explain the mysteries of God's life-changing power. So, as we make our feeble attempt to surrender and reach out to His word, He takes it from there. "

16 MAY 2021 · We're in the middle of a Pandemic, we have vaccines, there are still plenty of people unemployed, yet, we're expected to still praise God in the middle of all this. What did David mean when he said, I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall be continually on my mouth, Psalms 24:1" Are you able to praise him right now, even in the midst of this storm, or whatever storm that you're going through. All Zoomed out, bills, children acting up because they are home all the time and tired of virtual school and having issues with that, but yet, God still wants us to trust Him.

2 MAY 2021 · MAN IN THE MIRROR is continuing our book club. We've been reading and discussing Don Wood's book THE GOOD WORK. Don is coming on monthly to have a discussion about this bestseller. In tonight's episode, we will be discussing chapter Three."God Has His Tools."
"Think about it: when we break an arm or leg, we go to an orthopedic doctor. It is next to impossible to properly set a broken bone, along. When we have vision trouble we go to an ophthalmologist to see if there is an internal problem with our eyes (cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy) None of these can be fixed by you alone. Tea can't fix those issues. Finally, when there is a heart issue we go to a cardiologist. Try doing your own open heart surgery! Step1: Anesthesia; Step 2: zzzzzzzzz." God Has His Tools.

28 MAR 2021 · MAN IN THE MIRROR has started something new, a book club. Since we're diving into author Don Wood's book THE GOOD WORK in 2021, we've decided to start a book club. We're having Don on once a month to have a one on one discussion about this bestseller. In tonight's episode, we will be discussing chapter two "
God's Knock-out Punch." "I remember years ago hearing about a technique lifeguards supposedly use to help people who are drowning but who are flailing and thrashing in the water. I really don't know how true it is, but there or not it serves my purpose. The concept is that if a person is flailing widely in the water and the thrashing and wild movements threaten to end the life of both the victim and the lifeguard, the lifeguard is supposed to knock the victim unconscious so that the flailing stops and the victim can be moved to safety. this is probably a lifeguard house rule because there is nothing written to support this method. Let's say it is true; that is what God did for me." The great Knock-out punch of God.
