Kayleen McCabe is a general contractor, TV host, trades advocate, and always good for morale. Kayleen McCabe has been swinging hammers and toting toolbelts since the ripe age of six, when she shadowed her dad’s overhaul of their Denver home. In 2009 she beat dozens of male competitors for the grand prize on TV's Stud Finder: her own series called DIY Network's Rescue Renovation. She’s an advocate of trade careers, with her goal to shed light on the rising demand for trade professionals that’s outpacing vocational training, and to help restore America’s respect for the trades. Carley Ferrara is a blacksmith, woodworker, and mom. Her Iron Mountain Forge & Furniture has grown into an entire team of wildly talented craftspeople, creating custom pieces for clients all over the world. In 2015, Carley was featured as a contestant on the inaugural season of 'Ellen's Design Challenge' which airs on HGTV. Her upbeat enthusiasm for hands-on creativity exudes from everything she makes. So to build a treehouse we get into it with Caleb White, owner of New Leaf Treehouse Company and talk details on dialing in a treehouse design that won’t keep you up at night worried it’ll shake itself apart in a storm. We also get into cool tools and why ropes are better than ladders when you get up in the branches. A certified arborist, Caleb also jams on how to spot a sick or dying tree and the things that make them potential dangers that you wouldn’t necessarily think of.
