The piece draws on survivors, parents, and first responders to document multiple direct hits, including U.S. Tomahawk missiles, that killed at least 156 people—120 of them children, 26 of them teachers—on the opening day of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. A U.N. fact-finding mission later found the school itself was the intended point of impact. This is a live reading, past the paywall, because the reporting has barely registered in public commentary.

2 OCT 2026 · In the third installment of Occult Theatre with The Schizo Bros, Jose Galison of No Way, Jose! and Austin Picard of The Underclass Podcast take on Cameron Crowe’s 2001 Vanilla Sky as a glossy mask over a much older script. They read David Aames’s curated life, the Life Extension dream, and the film’s false realities through gnosticism, Kabbalah, Christian symbolism, and sex magic—then follow the story as a picture of elites manifesting reality, where wealth and will rewrite the world until the rewrite breaks. The conversation also turns to the making of the film itself: Cruise buying the rights to the Spanish original, keeping Penélope Cruz in the same role, and later getting the girl in real life—a world-is-your-oyster echo of the story’s elites manifesting reality.
Under the sinister layer, Jose and Austin stay with the film’s plainer lesson: consequences do not negotiate, people are not props, and a life built on performance eventually demands the real face. Vanilla Sky, in their reading, is both an occult map and a warning about taking others for granted and mistaking a manufactured self for an authentic one.
