show moreRaiders Live Pregame(15 minutes before game time) is presented by The Cal Team at ReMax Country, which can be found at www.thecalteam.com.
When it comes to both North Brunswick basketball teams, the theme of the season is "new".
We start with the Lady Raiders under new head coach Michelle Marano(NBTHS Class of 2008). The rebuild truly begins, as North Brunswick's top three scorers from a year ago have all graduated, including all-time leading scorer Niyell McCargo, who is now at Georgian Court University. It will be a youth movement with the Lady Raiders, led by sophomores Shahd Elshamma and Chloe Hardy, along with junior forward Jayda Sharp. North Brunswick will try to navigate a tough GMC Red Division schedule, with 4-time GMC champion St. Thomas Aquinas and GMC finalist Colonia.
After 34 seasons with the North Brunswick boys, head coach Ed Breheney is now retired and living the good life down at the Jersey Shore. Assistant coach Raheem Byrom is now the head coach, and has tabbed his team as the "New North". Byrom was the starting point guard for the 1997 North Brunswick team that captured the program's only GMC title, and will look to bring back a championship pedigree to Raider Nation. Brandon McCain had some game winning baskets last year, and will look to go even further with some help from a couple of junior teammates in the form of point guard Tommy Koroma and forward Jack Garbolino.
We will be online with North Brunswick Raiders Basketball on the King James Radio Network at www.jamesisking.com.
