The Tucson Roadrunners opened the 2026-27 American Hockey League season with a home back-to-back against the Colorado Eagles.
Saturday featured the Roadrunners getting blanked by rookie goaltender Ilya Nabokov for the Eagles.
Sunday, despite a combined eight goals between the squads, the Roadrunners fell 5-3 to the Eagles. Rookie Vadim Moroz recorded his first AHL goal, while rookies Yegor Borikov, Gregor Biber and Gabe Smith nabbed their first professional points via assists on the Roadrunners back-to-back goals to close out the second period and open the scoring in the third.
