18 MAR 2022 · In the sixth chapter of the Gita, Krishna shows that detachment from the outcomes of actions is not possible without renunciation from desires and expectations. He describes why it is essential to gain control over the soul to become detached from desires. Krishna also explains meditation and how it helps one gain control over the mind and thus become one with Brahman. He reassures Arjun that those who fail to achieve perfection in one lifetime will eventually achieve perfection over many births.
22 JAN 2022 · In the fifth chapter of the Gita, Krishna explains that all actions are merely functions of the body, and therefore one need not be attached to their outcomes. He discusses how Brahman remains detached from worldly actions and their outcomes, and how those who become one with Brahman attain a similar state.
9 OCT 2021 · In the fourth chapter of the Gita, Krishna reveals that he is incarnated whenever unrighteousness is on the rise. He explains that actions can lead to good and bad karma but there is no karma when actions are performed with detachment. Finally, Krishna describes how an act of offering is at the heart of a yajna and gives examples of material and non-material sacrifices one can make in life.
16 SEP 2021 · In the third chapter of the Gita, Krishna explains how both action and inaction lead to karma. He also describes how nature’s cycle depends on everyone giving back a part of the blessings they receive. Krishna stresses that each person in a social group needs to perform their respective duties for society to function. He further explains that one's actions are governed by their gunas (inner natures) and implores everyone to be true to their dharmas determined by their life circumstances and personal attributes. He then warns that emotions and desires can cloud wisdom and judgment.
7 SEP 2021 · In part two of the second chapter of the Gita, Krishna stresses detachment from the outcomes of efforts, equanimity in life, and control over the senses. He then recounts the character of one who is self-realized and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a tranquil state at all times.
28 AUG 2021 · In part one of the second chapter of the Gita, Arjun laments that he will be killing loved ones for the sake of wealth and splendor. Krishna tells him no one is being killed as the soul is eternal, unchanging, and indestructible. Krishna further explains to Arjun that his actions should be guided only by his duty as a warrior to fight for a righteous cause.
20 AUG 2021 · In the first chapter of the Gita, the battlefield is described. Arjun sees those dear to him in both armies and is overcome with grief at the thought of having to kill friends and family in battle and the chaos that will ensue. Filled with anguish, he lays down his arms.
