Soap Opera Weekly, began as a sister magazine to Soap Opera Digest, made its debut on the newsstands in November of 1989 and the final issue was put out 23 years later in 2012. Joining us for the hour are an incredible array of writers and editors some of whom first started off as interns at the magazine. Leading the bunch is the one and only Mimi Torchin who led the magazine for 11 years. In addition to his roles in daytime, Doug has appeared in several primetime hit series including, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stargate SG-1, 666 Park, Law and Order and much more. Doug also spent ten years in the music business producing artists and associate produced A Christmas Story on Broadway. 27 JUN 2024 · We celebrated Mother’s Day with real life husband and wife duo, Jordi and Kaitlin Vilasuso. Jordi and Kaitlin are the parents of three beautiful girls, Riley (11), Everly (7) and almost six-month old Lucy, who was hospitalized back in January with RSV. We will hear what Mother’s Day is like in the Vilasuso household from these very busy parents and what they each learned from their own moms. 24 years ago this August, Jordi made his debut as Tony Santos on Guiding Light winning a Daytime Emmy Award in 2003 for Outstanding Younger Actor. Jordi will look back on his time working in Springfield, Pine Valley, Salem, and Genoa City. He will also tell us about the new digital drama series, The Blvd which he stars in alongside Vincent Irizarry and Adam Huss. 20 JUN 2024 · Emmy Award-winner Kevin Spirtas sat down in The Locher Room to discuss the final season of his Emmy winning series, After Forever (Amazon Prime). A story about love, loss, and new beginnings, Season One made history by becoming the first LGBTQ-themed drama series to win six Emmy Awards across any platform. Kevin will look back at his 40-year career that began at 18 on Broadway in A Chorus Line. He is most recognized for his eight-year stint as Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives well as the cult classic film sequels: Friday the 13th – Part VII: The New Blood, and Wes Craven’s: The Hills Have Eyes – Part II. Before departing DOOL in 2000, Kevin had the great opportunity to play his Days character opposite Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Dr. Drake Ramory’ on Friends: The One That Could Have Been- Part 1. 13 JUN 2024 · Actor turned therapist, William Bumiller, sat down in The Locher Room to discuss the importance of Mental Health Awareness.  Guiding Light fans will remember Bill for his role as “Sean McCullough”, “Reva’s” island guy when Annie left her to die on the plane. In addition to his role on Guiding Light, Bill has appeared on several hit primetime series including Mork & Mindy, Wings, The Golden Girls, The Nanny, Ellen, Chicago Hope, Judging Amy and so much more. Bill went back to school and earned his graduate degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and is currently specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. He will tell us about his work today with a broad spectrum of clients in an effort to help streamline and improve their communication skills to assist in resolving any relational issues, be they intimate, familial, or work related.  Catch up with Bill to learn more about his career in front of the camera and what led to his transition helping others attain the personal growth they’re striving for.

4 JUN 2024 · Disney Animation Legend Andreas Deja sat down for a one-on-one interview to tell us all about his 10-year labor of love, Mushka. Mushka is a short film told in exquisite and stylish hand-drawn animation by this director and animator. Mushka is the emotional and exciting story of a young girl named Sarah and her unlikely friendship with a tiger cub. The film is Andreas’s directorial debut. Mushka, created in the 2-D style of 101 Dalmatians is his homage to classic Disney animation. Andreas is a Polish-born American animator/director, most noted for his 30-year career at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His work includes supervising animation on characters in many Disney animated films, including villains Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King, and the titular character in Hercules, and Lilo, in Lilo & Stitch.
