This episode asks a harder question: what must the work never do? The central idea is simple and uncomfortable. The machine follows the rules you write, not the rules you meant. Most leaders carry their non-negotiables around in their heads, and AI just exposes that.
Singh introduces L.I.N.E.S., a five-step way to turn private standards into clear lines that people and machines can both follow. Indra Rinzler grows tomatoes and grapes. He can enjoy them, he says, but if he's attached to them, the birds eat them all. For twelve years he travelled the world as an importer, and learned to sit with a free afternoon until he felt the answer in his gut. Now he makes every decision that way. He met his wife in their fifties, and their teacher called it a marriage made in heaven. They are never separate, he says, but that doesn't mean they're always together. On a plane at thirty-five thousand feet, he can feel the fear happening "in Indra" and watch it without living inside it. In his book he calls the practice I Die Daily: meditation as a daily rehearsal of dying. Not long ago he broke a part on the door of her motorhome and went over to confess. "I have a clumsy husband," she said. When the new part was in, she gave him a hug he may never forget. Asked about his blind spots, he said: "I just passed eighty. I don't have much time left.
