2 DEC 2020 · My latest appearance (12-02-20) on TSN 1260 Radio (Edmonton) with host Corey Graham (@CoreyGraham) talking Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, the fate of the SkyDome, and those fabulous but extinct Montreal Expos.
We discussed the Blue Jays off-season strategy, what will become of the taxpayer-funded SkyDome in the face of looming real estate ambitions from their ownership group, why an Expos renaissance is in the works across most of Canada, why fans should remain excited about the Maple Leafs, and how Gary Bettman and the NHL shouldn't ruin the momentum of a pandemic-influenced season by allowing millionaires to continue bickering with billionaires.
Be sure to check out Corey's fine show on TSN radio (@TSN1260) and don't forget to catch the latest episode of the Whiskey & Cream podcast at arishapiro.ca.
19 FEB 2020 · My latest appearance (02-17-20) on TSN 1260 Radio (Edmonton) with Dustin Nielson (@nielsonTSN1260).
Remembering the legendary Tony Fernandez and how he touched the hearts of an entire generation of Toronto baseball fans with his class, dignity and talent. He will always be remembered as the greatest Blue Jays player to ever put on the uniform, and for being one of the most charitable and altruistic human beings you'll find on this planet.

From his website:
Dear friends,
Our dear 'hermano y amigo' Tony Fernandez passed away on Sunday, February 16 as a result of complications from the polycystic kidney disease that Tony suffered from over the past number of years.
The Fernandez family is deeply grateful to the many baseball colleagues, friends and fans who have surrounded them with expressions of compassion, love and prayers.
Following the funeral in Tony's native Dominican Republic, we anticipate that plans will be made for a memorial service to take place in Toronto at a later date. Details, once finalized, will be posted on this website as well as to the Facebook Page of the Tony Fernandez Foundation - Canada.
Thank you.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38,39)
9 AUG 2019 · My latest appearance (08-09) on TSN 1260 Radio (Edmonton) with host Tom Gazzola (@TomGazzola) sitting in for Dave Jamieson.
We discussed the historic start to Bo Bichette's career, the feeling around the Blue Jays clubhouse as the last vestiges of the Alex Anthopoulos regime were traded away, my candid thoughts on the recent Stroman-Sanchez-Biagini exorcism, the bizarre fallout from Igor Ozhiganov/Nikita Zaitsev's involvement with the Maple Leafs, and why a Russian cultural bias tends to only exist in the minds of largely mediocre NHL players.

Talking Blue Jays baseball at the MLB trade deadline; the fallout from the Aaron Sanchez trade, how fans should remember acquiring Derek Fisher, why the Marcus Stroman trade reeks of defeatism, the dangers of using position players to lure pitching prospects, why fans have grown tired of corporate doublespeak and misdirection, an ode to Justin Smoak as the last man standing, and flushing the last remnants of Anthopoulos engine oil to mark the transition from old guard to new.

13 JUL 2019 · My latest appearance (07-12) on TSN 1260 Radio (Edmonton) with host Dave Jamieson (@jamieson1260).
We jibjabbed about the Toronto Blue Jays; thoughts on their talent pool and prospect development, the inevitably sad fate of Marcus Stroman, and if Charlie Montoyo will ever find a way to leave his incremental mark on a moribund franchise.

Talking baseball; we covered the upcoming home run derby with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the state of the Toronto Blue Jays rebuild, different kinds of trade collateral with their current roster, and what to expect from the delightful core of young players (Gurriel Jr., Biggio, Jansen, Tellez) making significant strides throughout the regular season.

We discussed the fallout from the Kevin Pillar trade, why baseball struggles mightily with generating spontaneous moments of worthwhile action, the last remaining pieces of the Alex Anthopoulos era, and the lost art of bunting.

25 JAN 2019 · My latest appearance (01-24-2019) on TSN 1260 Radio (Edmonton) with host Dean Millard (@DuckMillard) as we discussed: Cooperstown's class of 2019, finding justice in Edgar Martinez making it to the hall, the sentimentality behind Roy Halladay's love of baseball, how Mariano Rivero changed the game in more ways than one, Mike Mussina debt of gratitude to the eternally salty Jack Morris, why Curt Schilling and his volume knob remain flummoxed, and the inevitable rise of the all-too deserving epic Canadian known as Larry Walker.
18 DEC 2018 · My latest appearance (12-17) on TSN 1260 Radio (Edmonton) with host Dean Millard (@DuckMillard) as we discussed the baseball winter meetings, the frail and vulnerable state of free agency, how the Blue Jays will handle their starting rotation in 2019, relentless rumours about Marcus Stroman and Aaron Sanchez, and where Bryce Harper and Manny Machado could potentially end up despite their character foibles and ruthlessly idiosyncratic ways.
