22 SEP 2022 · This week I’m doing my first interview with George Simpson about his new book, Nothing on Radar: The Valentich Mystery
One of Australia's greatest Aviation mysteries, Nothing on Radar, tells the story of a young pilot, Frederick Valentich, who flew from Melbourne toward King Island in Bass Strait early one evening, in October 1978 and vanished right after reporting his Cessna Aircraft was being chased by an Unidentified Flying Object. The pilot and his aircraft were never seen again in spite of a thorough air and sea search lasting almost a full week. Newspapers, radio and television covered the story which began as an account of a missing aircraft and ended up detailing the young pilot's unusual encounter and description of a very fast moving object which defied description, which flew outside the bounds of known aeronautical physics.
This is an account of the event as it unfolded, from the author's perspective, from meeting Witnesses, from hearing news reports to meeting members of the missing pilots family, from meeting an Ex NASA scientist who wrote about the case, and from UFO researchers who studied the case as it happened. This conversation is like no other you will find out of Australia! Enjoy!
