Hymn 367“Christ the Lord is Risen Today” v. 1&2EASTER HYMN
Call to Worship
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things! The LORD’s right hand is lifted high; the LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!”
I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.
The LORD has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death. Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD.
This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.

Expressions of Faith
Lord you have always given bread for the coming day
And though I am poor today I believe
Lord you have always given strength for the coming day
And though I am weak today I believe
Lord you have always given peace for the coming day
And though of anxious heart today I believe
Lord you have always kept me safe in trials
And now tried as I am today I believe
Lord you have always marked the road for the coming day
And though it may be hidden today I believe
Lord you have always lightened this darkness of mine
And though the night is here today I believe
Lord you have always spoken when time was right
And though you be silent now today I believe
Silence
Scripture: Psalm 62: 1-2
My Soul Is at Rest
“My soul is at rest in God alone, my salvation comes from God.”
Prayer Offerings
During the next three songs there will be an opportunity to offer prayers to God through the lighting of a candle.
Come forward in silence and patience;
Take one of the unlit straight candles (Symbolizing the prayer that is on your heart)
Light it on the single candle (Symbolizing your prayer going to God)
Then light a small candle (Symbolizing the offering of your prayer to another in need)
Blow out the straight candle you used as a lighter (Symbolizing you placing the work into God's hands)
Leave the small one burning (Symbolizing God's eternal presence in that place)
Feel free to come forward as many times as you feel called. . .
Nothing Can Trouble
"Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten; Those who seek God shall never go wanting.
Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten; God alone fills us."
Our Darkness is Never Darkness
"Our darkness is never darkness in your sight: the deepest night is clear as the daylight."
Within Our Darkest Night
"Within our darkest night, you kindle the fire that never dies away, never dies away.
Within our darkest night you kindle the fire that never dies away, never dies away."
The Lord is my Light
“The Lord is my light, my light and salvation: in God I trust, in God I trust”
The Community at Prayer
Sing the following line and hold the last note you sing in a hum that will continue through the prayer, then repeat, and during the hum feel free to share your own prayers. . .
"Lord, hear our prayer, Lord hear our prayer, hum. . ."
In the Lord I’ll be Ever Thankful
“In the Lord I’ll be ever thankful; in the Lord I will rejoice! Look to God, do not be afraid;
lift up your voices, the Lord is near; lift up your voices, the Lord is near.”
Scripture: Philippians 4: 4-7
Give Peace in Every Heart
"Give Peace in Every Heart.
Give Peace in Every Heart.
Give peace, Lord.
Give peace, Lord."
