In this episode, Dr. Cassandra Vonnes, a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, and member of the GAPNA Communication Team, talks with Aparna Gupta, DNP, FACHE, CPHQ, CRNP, a nationally recognized leader in gerontological nursing, and a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association.
Dr. Gupta discusses her inspiration to become a gerontological nurse, the importance of nurse self-care, the connection between caregiver burnout and patient experience, and how nurses can use informal conversations with their patients to strengthen the human connection between them, resulting in optimal patient care.
