EPISODE SUMMARY
Today, we kick off a new training titled "Integrating Gait training and Positional Breathing in to Fitness and Therapy. Breathing has become a very popular topic in recent years in both fitness and therapy. But how to you even begin to re-train a process that happens in our body constantly and without conscious thought?
Beyond that, how do you convince your clients and patients that correcting dysfunctional breathing is a crucial first step to helping them achieve their fitness and performance goals? The position of the axial skeleton and its ability to change shape as we inhale and exhale greatly influences the body's center of gravity and the way distal extremities manage stress.
In this two-episode training, we will cover positional breathing concepts and drills to restore optimal positioning of these structures as a foundational step before training and therapy. By doing this, we can ensure our client or patient can dynamically control the ribcage and pelvis to drive stress to the right areas, help them better manage gravity and improve weight shifting capabilities.
