Fr: La pluie tombait doucement sur la Ville Lumière.
En: The rain was falling gently on the City of Light.

Fr: Pierre, un parisien authentique, errait dans les rues sinueuses de Montmartre, un coin de Paris qui scintillait même sous un ciel gris.
En: Pierre, a true Parisian, wandered through the winding streets of Montmartre, a corner of Paris that sparkled even under a gray sky.

Fr: Ce jour-là, il avait décidé de manger à l'extérieur, dans un petit bistrot sur la Place du Tertre, loin de sa cuisine en désordre.
En: That day, he had decided to eat outdoors, in a small bistro on the Place du Tertre, far from his messy kitchen.

Fr: Pierre s'est assis à une table.
En: Pierre sat at a table.

Fr: Le cadre autour de lui était aussi charmant que rustique.

En: He couldn't simply refuse to eat what had been served to him, in front of a living tableau of tourists trying to understand the French soul.

Fr: Il a donc décidé de faire face à l'affrontement.
En: So, he decided to face the challenge.

Fr: Pierre prit une fourchette et grimaça en sentant le premier escargot glisser dans sa bouche.
En: Pierre picked up a fork and grimaced as he felt the first snail slide into his mouth.

Fr: Il a tout fait pour garder son visage impassible, hochant même la tête pour indiquer son appréciation au serveur qui le regardait avec une expression inquiète.
En: He did everything he could to keep his face impassive, even nodding to indicate his appreciation to the waiter who watched him with a worried expression.

Fr: Même quand l'escargot a glissé de sa fourchette pour atterrir sur sa chemise blanche, Pierre a accepté cela comme un défi.
