It: Il sole splendeva alto sopra Piazza San Marco.
En: The sun was shining high above St. Mark's Square.

It: I piccioni volavano e i turisti scattavano foto.
En: Pigeons were flying, and tourists were taking pictures.

It: Luca e Giulia camminavano mano nella mano.
En: Luca and Giulia were walking hand in hand.

It: Erano felici, amavano Venezia.
En: They were happy; they loved Venice.

It: “Guarda, Giulia!
En: “Look, Giulia!

It: Che bella la basilica!” disse Luca.
En: How beautiful the basilica is!” said Luca.

It: I suoi occhi brillavano di gioia.
En: His eyes sparkled with joy.

It: Giulia sorrise.
En: Giulia smiled.

It: “Sì, Luca.
En: “Yes, Luca.

It: È bellissima.
En: It's beautiful.

It: Facciamo una foto insieme.” Luca si avvicinò alla chiesa, ma improvvisamente si fermò.
En: Let's take a photo together.” Luca approached the church but suddenly stopped.

En: He felt his head spinning.

En: He had fainted.

En: “Luca!” Giulia cried as she knelt beside him.

En: “Someone help me!” she called out to the other tourists.

En: People stopped and formed a small circle around them.

It: Un signore anziano si avvicinò.
En: An elderly man approached.

It: “Sono un medico,” disse.
En: “I’m a doctor,” he said.

It: “Lasciami vedere.” Controllò Luca e poi guardò Giulia.
En: “Let me see.” He checked Luca and then looked at Giulia.

It: “Starà bene.
En: “He’ll be fine.

It: Sembra solo un calo di zuccheri.
En: It seems to be just a drop in blood sugar.

It: Avete qualcosa di dolce?” Giulia annuì e tirò fuori un pezzo di cioccolato dalla borsa.
En: Do you have something sweet?” Giulia nodded and pulled a piece of chocolate from her bag.

It: Lo mise delicatamente sulle labbra di Luca.
En: She gently placed it on Luca's lips.

It: Dopo un attimo, Luca aprì gli occhi.
En: After a moment, Luca opened his eyes.

It: Si sentiva ancora debole, ma meglio.
En: He still felt weak but better.

It: “Luca, mi hai fatto spaventare!” disse Giulia, con le lacrime agli occhi.
En: “Luca, you scared me!” said Giulia, tears in her eyes.

It: “Mi dispiace, Giulia,” disse Luca debolmente.
En: “I'm sorry, Giulia,” Luca said weakly.

En: “I don't know what happened.” The doctor smiled.

It: “Devi mangiare qualcosa e riposarti.
En: “You need to eat something and rest.

It: Ora andate a sedervi in un caffè e prendetevi un po' di tempo.” Giulia aiutò Luca a rialzarsi.
En: Now go sit in a café and take some time.” Giulia helped Luca up.

It: Si diressero verso un piccolo caffè accanto alla piazza.
En: They headed to a small café next to the square.

It: Si sedettero fuori, sotto l'ombra di un grande ombrellone.
En: They sat outside under the shade of a large umbrella.

It: “Prendiamo qualcosa di dolce e una bibita,” disse Giulia.
En: “Let's get something sweet and a drink,” said Giulia.

It: “Abbiamo bisogno di energia.” Ordinarono due torte al limone e due spremute d’arancia.
En: “We need the energy.” They ordered two lemon cakes and two freshly squeezed orange juices.

It: Luca iniziò a sentirsi meglio con ogni morso.
En: Luca began to feel better with each bite.

It: “Grazie, Giulia,” disse lui, stringendogli la mano.
En: “Thank you, Giulia,” he said, holding her hand.

It: “Sei il mio angelo custode.” Giulia sorrise.
En: “You're my guardian angel.” Giulia smiled.

It: “Luca, siamo una squadra.
En: “Luca, we're a team.
