According to Leslie McAllister, Taylor was one of five children; the second oldest of the McAllister kids. Nothing traumatic occurred in her early years that would have triggered her to become addicted to drugs. So, how did Taylor end up on the path that led her to meeting the individuals who would eventually confess to their involvement in her death?
As you heard in episode 1 of this chapter, Taylor Anne McAllister was only 22-years-old when she lost her life. You also heard, briefly, how much she enjoyed music; singing and playing guitar. In episode 2, you will have the opportunity to hear from those who knew her better than anyone; her parents Leslie and Bill McAllister. You will hear all about Taylor’s personality, passions, interests, love of her family and music. You will also hear about the decisions that led Taylor to abusing drugs at one point in her very short life.
Leslie and Bill McAllister share their experiences from raising their daughter into a beautiful young woman and then letting her fly on her own as an adult. They also share with us; the details surrounding her introduction to prescription drugs, her experiences with drugs and rehab, her battles that followed, her introduction to Robert Henry Butler III, her death, the investigation, and where the case is today.
We are extremely grateful to Leslie and Bill for being able to share Taylor’s story with us. We know that it couldn’t have been easy - especially hearing and reading what others have said about their daughter.
One thing we urge listeners to remember is: one decision (good or bad) does not define you. That is not who you are as a person. It was a decision and a part of your story, but it is not who you are.
