Story Transcript:

Uk: Він був немов лис, котрий колись втратив свою хвостову китицю.
En: He was like a fox who had once lost his tail tuft.

Uk: Олександр, молодий інженер, що приїхав у Львів на конференцію, сидів у невеличкому кав’ярняному закутку.
En: Alexander, a young engineer who had come to Lviv for a conference, sat in a small corner of a café.

Uk: Він обирав, що йому замовити.
En: He was deciding what to order.

Uk: «Кава з молоком, будь ласка», протягнув він офіціантці, котра виглядала трохи розгублено і непритомно.
En: "Coffee with milk, please," he said to the waitress, who looked a little confused and absent-minded.

Uk: Проте, вона посміхнулася й побігла до бара.
En: However, she smiled and hurried to the bar.

Uk: Олександр тим часом дивився на замок, що пишно простирався перед його вікном.
En: Meanwhile, Alexander stared at the castle that proudly stretched out in front of his window.

Uk: Офіціантка, Анастасія, поставила перед ним каву, сліпо відсіявши важливі деталі замовлення.
En: The waitress, Anastasia, placed the coffee in front of him, inadvertently overlooking important details of the order.

Uk: Сметана в пінку виглядала збентежливо схожою на молоко.
En: The cream, foaming on top, looked carelessly similar to milk.

Uk: «Ось ваша кава, пане…» - вона замислилась на мить, очевидно не пам’ятаючи його імені, але швидко виправилася.
En: "Here's your coffee, sir..." she hesitated for a moment, clearly not remembering his name, but quickly corrected herself.

Uk: Скуштувавши каву, Олександр зразу відчув важкий, вершковий смак.
En: Upon tasting the coffee, Alexander immediately felt a heavy, cream-like flavor.

Uk: Він раптово зрозумів, що місце молока зайняла сметана.
En: He suddenly realized that cream had taken the place of milk.

Uk: Він намагається не викривитися, та не впорався з мимовільним жестом відрази.
En: He tried not to show his disgust but struggled to control an involuntary gesture of aversion.

Uk: Розмовляючи з Анастасією, він намагається забутися в замисленість, але ковток за ковтком здаються все більш надокучливими.
En: Engaging in conversation with Anastasia, he tried to immerse himself in thought, but each sip seemed more bothersome.

Uk: Але тоді він згадав, що у нього таки важка кінцівка дня.
En: But then he remembered that he had a difficult ending to the day.

Uk: Колись він відмовився від вечері з колегами, кажучи що він готуватиме свою презентацію.
En: He had once declined dinner with colleagues, claiming that he would be preparing his presentation.

Uk: Зневаживши свою гордість, він зрозумів, що йому потрібно просто справитись із ситуацією.
En: Disregarding his pride, he realized that he needed to simply deal with the situation.

Uk: Олександр глибоко вдихнув і випив знову.
En: Alexander took a deep breath and drank again.

Uk: Він усміхнувся до Анастасії, сподіваючись, що вона не здогадається про його дрібний секрет.
En: He smiled at Anastasia, hoping she wouldn't suspect his little secret.

Uk: Потім він знову ковтнув, відклав чашку й майже обіцяв собі, що наступного разу вибере щось простіше - можливо, чай.
En: Then he swallowed again, set the cup aside, and almost promised himself that next time he would choose something simpler - maybe tea.

Uk: Нехай й він вибрав невдалий напій, але саме цей несподіваний епізод допоміг Олександру стати більш свідомим і готовим заявити про своє бажання чітко та впевнено.
En: Although he had chosen an unsuccessful drink, this unexpected episode helped Alexander become more aware and ready to assert his desires clearly and confidently.

Uk: Так, він вдав, що йому сподобалося пити каву зі сметаною, але у своєму серці він усвідомив, що важливо вислуховувати себе й займатися самопізнанням, навіть коли справа доходить до кави.
En: Yes, he pretended to enjoy drinking coffee with cream, but in his heart, he realized that it is important to listen to oneself and engage in self-discovery, even when it comes to coffee.
