Cs: Na Karlově mostě pražilo letní slunce.
En: The summer sun was blazing on Charles Bridge.

Cs: Davy turistů se proplétaly mezi sochami a obdivovaly historická díla.
En: Crowds of tourists wove among the statues, admiring the historical works.

Cs: Uprostřed všech těch lidí šli Jirka a Veronika, dva studenti.
En: Amidst all these people walked Jirka and Veronika, two students.

Cs: Jirka byl student architektury, syn slavného architekta.
En: Jirka was an architecture student, the son of a famous architect.

Cs: Veronika byla výměnná studentka z Bratislavy a studovala výtvarné umění.
En: Veronika was an exchange student from Bratislava studying fine arts.

Cs: Byla křehká a měla astma.
En: She was delicate and had asthma.

Cs: Jirka chtěl Veroniku ohromit.
En: Jirka wanted to impress Veronika.

Cs: Chtěl ukázat, že umí chránit a pomáhat.
En: He wanted to show that he could protect and help.

En: She gasped for breath, turned red, and her eyes widened.

Cs: Jirka okamžitě pochopil, co se děje.
En: Jirka immediately understood what was happening.

Cs: Věděl o jejím astmatu, ale nikdy neviděl její záchvat na vlastní oči.
En: He knew about her asthma, but he had never seen her have an attack firsthand.

Cs: „Veroniko, co potřebuješ?
En: "Veronika, what do you need?"

Cs: “ zeptal se zoufale.
En: he asked desperately.

Cs: Veronika se pokusila něco říct, ale nemohla.
En: Veronika tried to say something, but she couldn't.

Cs: Její inhalátor byl v batohu, ale ten batoh byl ztěžklý a zapadlý v davě.
En: Her inhaler was in her backpack, but that backpack was heavy and buried in the crowd.

Cs: Jirka se rozhodoval.
En: Jirka faced a decision.

Cs: Měl rychle vyhledat pomoc nebo ji zkusit pomoci sám?
En: Should he quickly seek help or try to help her himself?

Cs: Nakonec pochopil, že bude nejlepší zavolat odborníka.
En: In the end, he understood that it would be best to call a professional.

Cs: „Pomoc!
En: "Help!

Cs: Pomoc!
En: Help!"

Cs: “ křičel směrem ke skupině turistů.
En: he shouted towards a group of tourists.

Cs: Nikdo nevěnoval pozornost.
En: No one paid attention.

Cs: Ale potom k nim přiběhl muž v uniformě zdravotníka.
En: But then a man in a medic's uniform ran over to them.

Cs: „Je v pořádku, v klidu,“ řekl a vytáhl inhalátor ze svého batohu.
En: "She's okay, stay calm," he said, pulling an inhaler from his own backpack.

Cs: Pomalu podal Veronice inhalátor a ona si dala první dávku.
En: He handed the inhaler to Veronika slowly, and she took her first dose.

Cs: Po několika vteřinách se jí výraz změnil a začala dýchat klidněji.
En: After a few seconds, her expression changed, and she began to breathe more calmly.

Cs: „Děkuji,“ zašeptala Veronika, když si konečně přišla na dech.
En: "Thank you," Veronika whispered once she caught her breath.

Cs: Ohlédla se na Jirku, který byl skloněný nad ní a v očích měl slzy úlevy.
En: She looked at Jirka, who was bent over her with tears of relief in his eyes.

Cs: „Je mi líto, že jsem ti nemohl pomoci lépe,“ řekl smutně Jirka.
En: "I'm sorry I couldn't help you better," Jirka said sadly.

Cs: „Ne, tys udělal správnou věc.
En: "No, you did the right thing.

Cs: Zavolat o pomoc byla správná volba,“ odpověděla Veronika a usmála se.
En: Calling for help was the right choice," Veronika replied and smiled.

Cs: Jirka pochopil, že někdy není nutné všechno zvládnout sám.
En: Jirka realized that sometimes it's not necessary to handle everything on your own.

Cs: Někdy je důležité vědět, kdy zavolat o pomoc.
En: Sometimes it's important to know when to call for help.

Cs: Veronika se také změnila.
En: Veronika also changed.

Cs: Uvědomila si, že nemusí skrývat své potíže a může se na druhé spolehnout.
En: She understood that she didn't need to hide her troubles and could rely on others.

Cs: A tak, zatímco slunce stále ostře svítilo na Karlův most a turisté pokračovali ve svém dni, Jirka a Veronika kráčeli dál.
En: And so, while the sun continued to shine brightly on Charles Bridge and the tourists carried on with their day, Jirka and Veronika walked on.

Cs: Teď, s novým pohledem na svůj vztah i sebe samé.
En: Now, with a new perspective on their relationship and themselves.

Cs: Z mostu viděli věže a domy Prahy, které jim připomínaly, že každý velký příběh je složen z mnoha malých rozhodnutí a okamžiků porozumění.
En: From the bridge, they saw the towers and houses of Prague, which reminded them that every great story is made up of many small decisions and moments of understanding.
