Episode 50 discusses the Do's and Don'ts of interviewing, from the perspective of the interviewer and interviewee. Natasha shares her assessment of clients and former college students she has helped through the process. She outlines:
- What they didn't know,
- What they don't do
- Mistakes they make
- Lessons they learned
She shares some of the statistics and research findings about recruiting, interviewing, and the associated costs. She explains how to calculate recruitment costs.
Then she outlines the pet peeves of interviewers and interviewees, as well as the pet peeves she has.
The episode continues through the Job Interview Process, explaining each phase and sharing tips for both parties. She also outlines what an interviewer should do before ending an interview and what to do immediately after an interview.
Lastly, she helps out job candidates by providing several quality questions that they can select from to ask interviewers. She stresses not to ask them all in one interview, as it's definitely grounds to be excluded from follow-up interviews. Grab a few to use for each interview, put some variety and spice in your interviews, so you can positively stand out.
This episode should be informative and helpful for managers, HR professionals, business owners who want to have quality interviews that can weed through the muck while finding those gems. This episode should also be quite helpful for people who are applying or thinking about applying for various positions.
