The Honchos served up another hot Sunday brunch today. They led off by addressing the Foo Fighters upcoming concert at Madison Square Garden and the heated debate about concert goers being required to be vaccinated, and then turned their attention to some headlines like a man being swallowed by a humpback whale (and surviving), some positive light shined on the police for a change, and a bizarre lawsuit out of Yonkers involving cell phones, thongs, and school principals.
The bag of sports was opened and what came out first was the proposed expansion of the College Football Playoffs from 4 teams to 12. After the college football talk, the Honchos hit the NBA, NHL, and MLB.
First up was the NBA and the Honchos talked NBA playoffs and played "Who Is Dumber" with unfortunate comments by Jeff Van Gundy and Steven A. Smith. Then attention was paid to the NHL with playoff talk and a therapy session for Rob's Barry Trotz angst. Finally, after the world's shortest tribute to the late Mike Marshall, the boys discussed the MLB crackdown on foreign substances used by pitchers and the real reason why pitching is so dominant all of a sudden.
A brief NFL Recap contained more updates on Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers, the Julio Jones trade, and Russell Wilson smokescreens.
After a quick look at Naomi Osaka's withdrawal from the French Open and Euro 2020, the show lurched to the finish line with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner was Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees.
