Friendly Streets was a prominent and long-standing project of EH's. 

Originating as a pilot project with Cycle Hamilton, Friendly Streets was designed to engage people towards more walkable, bikeable and vibrant neighbourhoods — especially in Hamilton’s downtown core. 

The project then shifted to centre on Black, Indigenous and Racialized Communities—a collaborative initiative between the Afro-Canadian Caribbean Association, Environment Hamilton, and the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion. This stemmed from a recognition that streets are experienced in unique ways by different communities for various reasons.
