show moreBut first of all, I must thank the Thinking Watermill Society for this opportunity.
Before anything else, I encourage everyone to embrace the chance to make some changes in their lifestyle. The more we are acting, the faster and the better.
These are a few habits I tend to follow:
a)For clothing, during cold periods, I would rather wear a jumpsuit instead of using the heating! In addition, I purchase locally-produced clothing in order to reduce the transportation pollution, which is also a good way to simulate your local business. Finally, I suggest to consider buying second-hand clothes.
b)And talking about transportation pollution, for long distances I tend to travel by train or car as these means of transport consume less than planes and ferries. In fact, there is a significant amount of global pollution produced by planes, fishing boats, ferries and container ships, all necessary to carry the products we order as well as for travel purposes.
c)Lastly, for recycling waste, I use a single plastic bag for all vegetables and fruit I buy at the supermarket. Moreover, for products like shampoos and olive oil, I buy glass bottles instead of their plastic format.
So, these are a few suggestion from my side. I’d like to know yours!
Thank you for your attention!
